Is Vrabel on the hot seat next season?

There was improvement offensively and defensively toward the middle of the season. It was only a glimpse. Additionally demonstrated innovation. Penalities were down. The team believes in him. Mistakes were generally corrected in year one like the goal line offense. This team will never be New England, but if he can have them knocking on the door and that is fair enough.

His biggest challenge will be to remain himself, keep Mariota focused downfield, add talent.

Did Doug Pederson take a playoff team and miss the playoffs his 1st year?

If Vrabel wins the SB next year, then he won't be on the hot seat for sure, but taking over a playoff team and missing the playoffs in back to back years would surely be grounds for firing

 

Vrabel has come in and set the bar at 9-7. He will have to do better than that moving forwards or everyone will call for his head.

The seat gets hot in 2020 if he fails to improve from 2018.

 

Vrabel is not to blame when we have no one behind Mariota. Key players got hurt before the playoffs too. It is ridiculous to say Vrabel should be on the hotseat. If Marvin Lewis can still have a job as consistently bad the Bengals have been let Vrabel have a chance. No Coach should be fired after 1 season

 

Seriously hope this is trolling. McCarthy couldn’t win with one of the best QBs ever. Vrabel was never offered the OSU job either.

All I can tell is he never lines up in classic NFL formations or under Center.

His pocket awareness out of shotgun is good, he has an NFL arm. I like what Ive seen so far but I cant help but think of Mariota transitioning from a similar system and being just average as an NFL player when Im watching Haskins.
