Sorry my dudes, but it's time to give up on the kid. He's likable. Call him a gamer if you want because of his blocks, stiff arms, and TD passes to himself, but he just can't be relied upon. We never have any idea what we're getting when toe hits leather at 1pm Sunday afternoon. Sometimes he plays well. Sometimes he plays poorly. Sometimes he doesn't play at all.

It's always something with the kid: a knee, elbow, ankle, "poor WR play," "no o-line," "bad playcalling," "bad head coach," etc. At some point you have to look at the constant, and it's the QB.

Let's say by some miracle we win this game with Blaine Gabbert, then what? Are we making a run in the playoffs with him at QB? Not likely.

This could (and probably does) mean that further damage to the current injury would put his ability to throw at risk. Once it heals fully, there will be no additional risk.

If his career was likely over, all the national reporters would have led with that.

Such a hot take...same as everyone else on the board is saying. He will be the qb next year. Do they move on after that? Decent chance. But no decision will be made until after the 2019 season.

As a backup? Sure...but no way you want him as your starting qb.

Unfortunately might have missed the window on that. He'll have a line of suitors this offseason.

We should have traded for him 9 months ago.

This is a terrible year to go looking for a new QB. There aren't any in the draft and the only decent FA is Flacco.

Gotta stick it out for another year with MM and then look for a QB in a draft year with guys like Tua and Herbert.

Biggest game for this franchise in the last decade.

This fanbase bout to turn on him real quick.

    Team should do the same.
