You've made no argument yourself, besides a subjective statement that one of our best players is nothing special. Makes you wonder how weve got 3 winning seasons in a row.

 

Imagine if instead we had a true proven #1 wr like Amari cooper

 

Cooper doesn't play offensive line or defense.

 

But he plays elite wr

We can get centers guards and defense innround 2. Cooper would transform this team like he did dak

 

Show me him being special on a consistent basis.

I think safety play has been pretty average across the league for a lot of years now. Byard being near the top of the list of an overall average group doesn’t make him elite or special.

Rob Gronkowski is special. He threw Byard around the entire game in the playoffs when those two were matched up. Does that happen to a special player?

Byard is a solid player who had a great season in 2017. There’s nothing wrong with that.

And calling a guy a solid starter is not an insult. Not everyone can be great or elite. That’s why those categories exist.

I think both of you are mostly right.

Safety play is pretty average across the board. I'm not ready to call Byard elite.

With that said, I don't think there is a true rangy FS that is clearly better than Byard. If we are looking at needs and acquiring players accordingly, I think that is probably the last place I'd look.
