Say what we want , Mariota would play at all costs . If he can’t throw it , he can’t throw it. Last time he tried to throw when hurt he threw a pick and learned he was hurting his team. He’s not soft and he’s not a bad teammate. He could be a bit fragile and certainly is often injured. That’s it.

 

I don't think he is soft and I also believe he has the talent. Unfortunately, he is just too injury prone and inconsistent, can't be relied on. Gonna need a real answer for the future.

I think some people here seem to confuse lack of heart with injury prone. Look, I'm not sold on Marcus. I've wanted him to succeed, and I like him as a person, but at some point you have to realize that he isn't good enough to sit and worry year after year about his injuries. It doesn't mean I want him to fail, it doesn't mean I ever wanted him to fail...I'm sure most of us wanted him to be the QB we hoped he could. Whether you want to blame it on coaching...or not enough talent around him...I just don't feel he's our future, but again that's my opinion and it's worth absolutely nothing.

However, what I will not question is his heart. You can tell how badly he wants to win each time he's out there. Do you see him slide before a first down marker if he can make it? No. He's hurdled, lowered his shoulder, and basically just ran Praying he'd make it. No, he's no McNair, but seriously how many people are? We all would like to talk tough...and say "If it were me I'd give it everything I had until I couldn't walk." Easier said than done. The guy had a stinger...would you honestly want him out there with the defense knowing that he literally was incapable of throwing a football at the present time? I will pull for Marcus the rest of the way...I may not think of him as our future, but if he comes out there to start next Sunday I'll certainly be hoping he plays the game of his life.

I really believed in the guy. But it seems like your average Mariota season is going to be four incredible games, four games he misses all or part of due to injury, and eight games rannging somewhere from terrible to extremely mediocre.

Just isn't enough. If the Titans believe in any of the qb in this class and have the ammo to go get them, do it. They can back up mm8 for a year and learn, then take over the following year .

Maybe often we injured but you are right he plays at all costs. With all the injuries you people talk about he has only missed 4 1/2 starts in the last 3 years. That is not much time at all. Too many people hear over react and don’t actually look at the facts.
