Bottom line is that the Titans were a playoff team last year, and they have gotten worse. Losing Walker and Rishard walking out is not the sole excuse for that.

IMO, the titans would have been better this year with Mularkey and Lebeau. Maybe not long term, but this year, I believe they would have at least established a running game, and not set up Mariota for failure.

And IMO the relative blowouts would have been closer games.

The games probably would have been less exciting, but at least last year I had a reason to watch at this point.

But that's a big problem. We need a long term solution, not a patch job.

Honestly, my biggest concern is the offensive line. If they are run blocking and pass blocking better, we are a playoff team....

    Couldn’t agree more.
It goes along the lines of having one of those coaches that can get a team to the playoffs but has no ability to take a team further.
Andy Reid, Jeff Fisher (once upon a time), Marty schottenheimer all had that problem. When Reid blows it again this year in the div round, KC fans will want his head, he’s currently 9-2. For schottenheimer he got fired after 14-2. Sometimes you just need a guy who can get it done.
As much as I hate to admit it, I would take a guy like Jon harbaugh. He may suck some seasons but certainly has the ability to get it done at least once.

I just have a hard time believing he wouldn't leave first chance he got.

Maybe. It was pretty obvious Tennessee isn’t where some of the other former successful coaches like Gruden or coughlin
