Make him play out the season and see what we've got. Then move on.

Not like we're going anywhere anyways... look to the long-term.

 

The entire offense is lacking not just solely Mariota, You can go right ahead and replace him and it will change nothing. You'll just be subjecting another QB to no pass protection and a bad run game.

 

Gabbert is trash, Fitz is capable sometimes. Plus, Mariota needs to play every remaining game to see if he can actually pull it together under his 3rd OC in 4 seasons. This thread is silly.

 

The difference in benching Winston vs Mariota is they have a legit backup and we don't.

 

I was watching the Top 10 runs of all time on NFL. There was a QB Best of the Rest and Mariota's 79 yrd. run was in there. Not saying that he does not screw up, but I agree with most of the post stating the only problem is not at QB. We could dedicate an entire thread on the lack of production of a certain Heisman RB.

 

When your supposed franchise QB's best play is a run you got a problem. I agree it's not all his fault. Although I don't think anyone is really saying that is the case.

 

"Remember that one time..." is why this franchise (and the fans) put up with 8-8 Fisher for so long. And funnily enough the highlight of his way-too-long run here was a game that also featured an insanely flukey play.

 

Yeah no one is actually in favor of benching Mariota right now. I wouldn't even want us to bench him even if we did have a legit backup. It's getting about that time to make a major decision on Mariota, and therefore this entire franchise, and we need to give him every opportunity to sink or swim.
