Yet to be seen about the next man up.
He was a descent HC....did some good things....but he is older and probably a better assistant or position coach. Lots of young up and coming coaches.
His plan the day after he split was to take a year off.

I hold no ill will towards Mularkey, he certainly seems to be a genuinely good person. As you say, though, he's older and probably better suited for duties other than HC.

Moving on from him was the right move for Tennessee, whether or not Vrabel proves to be better. We'd already seen the ceiling for Mularkey's system in a year when we should have had at least 3 more wins given the state of our division.

Mularkey had the same problem as Munchak. He picked the wrong assistants and then stubbornly refused to replace them.

I'll say it again.....I think he would have been willing to change some things, but he knew he was gone so why fire people when you are next.
    But....onward and upward (hopefully). Lol

He seemed like a good guy. I'm thankful for the help he provided and wish him well going forward.

I thought Mularkey did an awesome job creating culture on the team. They won because the believed and played with heart. Now, I do think he was stupid stubborn etc, and I hated his offense/formations and inability to change...but let’s give credit where it’s due. He went 9-7 and won a playoff game with a team that had no business doing so. I liked the switch to Vrabel and co, but they better fix this mess and lack of adjustment going on.

We've heard it all before, haven't we? if it's not broke, don't fix it. But we tinker around with it, don't we? Yeah, and we break it all to hxll. Then we can't put the duldarn thing back together again, right? Ain't that the way it is? Ever know a rich person who threw something of great value in the trash only to turn around and pay more for something that is not as good? And then you see them with long gloves digging thru the trash looking for it and not finding it? Don't tell me that's what happened to the Tennessee Titans.

We open our eyes and what do we see? Well the offensive scheme is BAAAAD, and the defensive scheme is BAAAD. This team is digging its own grave and is already 6 feet under. Just think that last year was the beginning of a dynasty for the Tennessee Titans. At least they were on cloud 9, right? Slap, slap! Hey, don't look now but, but they made it all the way to the playoffs. What?? 20 some teams cannot say that, are you kidding me? Even as bad as Mariota was in touchdown to interception ratio the Titans made it t0 da playoffs, hello? It only gets better from there, right? Folks, right??

I don't think I ever seen a game where Mariota did not throw for a touchdown. Well it happened in two consecutive games. I have seen enough to know that I do not put my stamp of approval on the way this team is.

Mariota looks so bored and unenthusiastic that it is difficult to watch. His heart is not into it, folks. He's not enjoying himself the way he knows he can. Just watching him is like depressing me, dulling my fascination with this team. Who needs to watch this pitiful, dreadful crud, yuck. If Mariota doesn't start playing with more interest I'm not gonna watch them anymore. Again, the problem is the coaches and their inability to put together an offensive scheme suitable for a heisman trophy winner. I would be glum too if I knew my career was gonna be over. My condolences to Mariota.
