Second time I've read this All-22 post on MusicCityMiracle, and second time I disagree with just about every thing he writes (except the WRs not getting separation and the routes being stupid, that he got spot on).

The OL is blocking satisfactorily on most of the plays, but Mariota doesn't have the ability to move around in the pocket while keeping his eyes downfield and he quickly starts to antipate pressure that isn't there.

So disregarding the WR play, which of course played a big part, here's my take from the All-22:

Sack 1: Great play by Suggs. Can't really blame OL or Mariota on this one. Looks like Ravens played predominantly man coverage. PA is useless against that.

Sack 2: Mariota's lack of pocket presence shows here. If he sidesteps to the right, he buys himself more time, but instead he run to where Kline is blocking his guy. Kline may be getting pushed backwards, but the pocket was otherwise clean and Mariota should have easily been able to sidestep it.

Sack 3: Pocket gets squeezed but is clean, yet Mariota decided to bail outside rather than step up and/or escape up the middle.

Sack 4: Bit of a screw-up by Conklin, the DE looks as if he's dropping fooling him to go inside. Clever or lucky play by the DE I would say.

Sack 5: Spain and Lewis both mess up here allowing the DL to get through.

Sack 6: All Mariota on this one. Pocket is clean when he decides to run outside.

Sack 7: Again all Mariota. Pocket is clean, but he gets skittish and tries to bail outside. Note: Kline did not get "destroyed", yes he falls down, but he forces the DL to go deep and around Mariota. Not a good grade, but he didn't cause the sack.

Sack 8: Again disagree 100%, Levin has his man blocked and is taking him deep. Pocket is clean, but Mariota decides to run before he needs to.

Sack 9: Mariota fails to step up as Lewan is taking the DE deep (no pun intended...).

Sack 10: Lewan gets beat and Levin is late picking up the blitz. Not much Mariota could do different here.

Sack 11: Lewan doing his best impersonation of a turnstile... Lewis also looks bad. Looks like the protection scheme is completely out of whack on this play and nobody really knows who they're supposed to block.

So in total I'd put the blame on Mariota/WRs for 6 and the OL for 3.5 and 1.5 is just a good play by the Ravens.

That video was very informative. It gave a totally different view..What stood out to me aside from our Guards being pushed back into our QB's face was all the deep routes and hardly no one going across the middle. The sideline is like a extra defender. Guys had most of their routes running towards the sideline which makes it even easier for a defense in Cover 1 or 2.

First thing is yes that ravens D is legit, they dictated the game all day. Which is why we saw some long routes being called, in an attempt to back them out of the box.

pretty standard stuff we see from OC's.

Trouble is our playcalling didnt match our talent on the O-Line. We were calling stuff only good teams can call. LeFleur wasnt able to think on the fly fast enough.

I think you misunderstood what I meant. I disregard it because I was only looking at whether the OL was to blame for the sacks.
I thought I made it clear that whenever I put the "blame" on Mariota, it was likely due to the WR play, but I guess I didn't.
