I said that Mariota gives me a glimmer of hope one minute only to complete ruin that glimmer of hope the next. He'll show great promise, even look amazing, but then get hurt or look like total crap the next series or next game.

I said I'm beginning to lose faith that he's the guy that can take us to the promise land. What part of this assessment is stupid? To pretend otherwise is to be blind.

I still haven't given up on him, I like the kid, he shows some great things sometimes, but not consistently. To be a franchise QB you need consistency and losing your TE shouldnt make the offense totally inept.

Again, it's not all Mariota. Today the line was putrid. No one can be successful with 1 second before defenders are in you're face.

 

Rivers, Brees, Manning, Brady, Mahomes, Newton ... probably even Bortles.

 

1.5-2 seconds is plenty of time for quick throws. A slant, 5yd in, 5yd out, hitch, all are available and can be thrown within 2 seconds of the snap.

Either they were not running them or Mariota was not throwing them. Pathetic offensive play all around. Good QBs/teams can pick apart a defense that is selling out the pass rush and the Titans/Mariota did not do that today.

 

Totally different secondary though.

But yes I agree with you. Just can’t pick and choose arguments like that. Baltimore’s secondary is light years better than Philly’s.

All of them. Mariota is horrible. O-line was awful today, Mariota is awful almost every day. He has his exceptions.,

 

How about 2019? Why wait? Get a guy that can push Mariota or steal his job now.

 

Agreed, we can’t afford to wait. At this point, it’s sign Mariota to a contract, or let him go and go after a good QB. Obviously signing MM to a big contract, unless you’re a moron, is not an option.
