    I'll point out a problem when I see it, but the Bills loss wasn't on Mariota. I didn't see you complaining about him after the Eagles game....

    Truth is we need Mary right now. I haven’t panicked yet, even though I thought we **** the bed when we drafted him. I also thought we would lose last week... truth is that Mary can play, and we’ve all seen it. He has been ping ponged around since getting here.

    Yes but it’s about time for him to grab the team and offense by the horns and lead the way. I don’t think he imposes his will enough on the team. This is year four and it’s time to start showing more progress. More consistency. Anytime they lose and has a bad game, the dump Mariota posters are more than eager to rear their head. It’s hard to blame them. It doesn’t have to be that way. Marcus needs to know and understand that it is ok to relax and just play and be the leader this team needs. He has it in him, I have no doubts about it. He’s a system quarterback and if he picks this one up, I think great things will happen for him and the team. If Jared Goff can do it in year number two and just a few games. There is no reason why he can’t pick it up. He needs to man up and kick it into gear.

    This is true but there still wasn’t enough Mariota either. I think that’s him and to me it’s all mental. He’s got to get over it and relax and just play

    That Bills front was destroying our OLINE and dudes dropping passes. If Goff played for us that day he would’ve probably got carted off the field. Just sayin.

    My biggest concern about Mariota is when he doesn't get the ball out fast enough on any pass over 15 yards. We had quite a few of those last Sunday.

    It points to a lack of confidence in himself, the system or his targets.

    I said it earlier this week. Sharpe only has 16 starts. Davis has 14. Taylor has five. These guy's heads are swimming.

    New system. His injury. Young WRs. Shaky protection. It all likely plays a role in what we're seeing.

    Because of all this, I am withholding judgement on whether or not Marcus is the long-term answer. But, if this stuff continues the rest of the season, no way I give him a huge contract.

    They already picked up his contract next year. The only way he gets a big one is if he starts playing like a franchise QB we drafted him to be and puts up insane numbers. Other than that he will have another oppurtinity next year to prove his worth. Not sure I like that idea either.

    i'd give him a blake bortles contract if he keeps playing the way he is. you can win with him and then you dont have to go back to QB hell. our defense is on the up and up and should keep us in game regardless

    Right. But I suspect they'd want to begin long-term contract talk this offseason like they did Lewan if they thought he was the answer.

    Well, you know he has the talent and he can play. He makes plays and gets us wins. We just need to see consistency but I can't fully blame him. Let's be real, the organization has not done any favors as this is his 3rd HC, QB coach, Offensive scheme, etc. You move on from him and he goes to a team that has stability and I can see him becoming a top 5 QB and I would be pissed. Just remind yourself what we were before he was drafted. We were a consistent below 3 win team.
