Austin Davis. What about him?

    Davis started games for the rams a few years ago, and as I recall, wasn't terrible. We could do much worse for a backups backup, hopefully he doesn't see the field, but if he had to play, he could do what Gabbert did against Houston.

    Kurt Warner played in the Arena League and NFL Europe. Not the CFL.

    Also Warren Moon had to pretty much win the CFL championship and win MVP almost every year for 5 years in the CFL before NFL teams thought he was able to hang in the league.

    I get what you’re trying to imply though. Talent can be found elsewhere, not just FAs.

    And tbh, I feel like with the exception of Johnny Manziel, most CFL QBs either never even stepped on an NFL field and if they did, at most they probably played a game 4 pre-season game or as a practice squad guy.

    If your backup isn’t a young QB you’re trying to groom or just feel isn’t ready, you’d want a vet guy who has played meaningful snaps in the league.

    Yeah, the league isn’t as racist any more so anyone as good as Warren Moon is already in it...and Warner never played in the CFL did he?

    Yes, I have been watching highlights of Davis and from what I have seen he has a style of game more closer to MM8 than Gabber, and did make some good plays for the Rams

    Gabby has a cannon for arm but from the replays he looked to me as a pocket passer.

    I know It is obvious from what I say but to clear this I havent followed football for the last 8 years, so I know nothing about any player other than Tom Brady :-\. I am from overseas, so no news about football in my local stations. I am trying to get up to date. Bare with me.

    I know Warner was with the AFL and later on NFLE. I brought him as an example of talent anywhere else apart from the FA list. You got other leagues, just retired players and a combination of both as other options. Slim chance a player like this can help much, but has happened before and can happend again.
