    I am a numbers guy.
Mariota's Total QBR (espn) was 39.3
(50 is considered an average NFL QB)

    He was BAD today.
I am a huge Mariota supporter, so I am trying to be optimistic, but he was bad.

If Taylor catches the DIME that MM8 puts on him and the horrible officating crew doesn't **** us with the 60 yard TD run, everyone would be saying something different.

The first two drives looked good and he was connecting with Davis besides the 4th down TD throw. This was a **** game with horrible officiating, weather delays every time we got momentum, and the four injuries we had. Not to mention we are missing our OT and LB crew. Stop over-reacting.

I think the offensive gameplan was solid, the players just didn't execute. Marcus throwing behind open recievers was a killer. People need to give the rat pack some credit for making the adjustments and catching those passes. Henry looks terrible. Maybe there's a reason Mularkey didn't start him over Murray last season. Defense looked lackluster. Made me wish we had the old man back.

I think Vrabel is a good HC. He started with a lot of injuries, the game took out his key players with injuries and it was one of the most poorly officiated game I've seen with the most lop-sided calls (and no calls) that went in Miami's favor. He's handled the press well considering.

This was his first real game as HC. I don't mind him going for it on 4th down. If Mariota has properly led Davis, I think it would have been a TD. We had many opportunities to win that game. The refs and the players inability to make a few key plays is what lost that game for us. We simply could not overcome some really unfavorable officiating.

I agree except Henry looking terrible. He had a legit long run TD. Henry's not an NFL starting RB though. He doesn't run behind his pads well. He tries, he's just too tall to get his power low. He's an upright straight line runner. Reminds me a lot of Brandon Jacobs. There's a use for him to batter and soften lines and to close games.

I agree on players needing to make plays and the bad calls but....not impressed with Vrabel and staff in the least. Hopefully it ALL gets better.

Agree except people are not over reacting. The officiating made it VERY difficult to overcome but our players didn't make plays. Our "franchise QB" has continued to throw high and behind the WR's since day 2 of TC. It stood out then when I went and it stood out yesterday. His accuracy is a LEGITIMATE concern. He's a game manager- which isn't bad but shouldn't be what we get with a #2 overall pick.

Our 1st and 2nd rounders just weren't contributing at all. And that is a LEGITIMATE concern. You can not survive if you don't acquire impact players with your early round picks.

it's game 1 guys, give it time, stop overreacting

offense looked fine in the first half, weather delays and injuries shaped the game in the 2nd.

losing delanie hurts but it might be good for mariota to have to learn to not use him as his security blanket

I’ll say this the day after, I’ve been watching this team for over 20 years and yesterday’s game had to be one of the worst mentally draining games I have watched. Between the 7+hr delay, all the injuries, refs, and inconsistent play I felt like I was given a lethal injection shot that lasted all fckn day. I would have rather just gotten blown out in the 4 hrs of play then endure an all day sh*t show. Week 1 is always a toss up in the NFL so I’m not surprised that we lost especially since we never play well against Miami for whatever reason. Add in all the other factors new systems, coaches, not full strength, etc. and it was definitely possible. Should we of won?Absolutely. With that being said there’s 15 games to go with a brutal stretch ahead. I’m not throwing in the towel, there’s alot of work to be done but I’m being cautiously optimistic just because there’s still plenty of talent on this team. Whether you think Mariota sucks, injury prone, or whatever he still gives us the best chance to win right now. It’s definitely concerning how he’s started especially with his accuracy. I think his leash is extremely short but I wanna see more then just one game in a new system before I completely pull the plug.
