This. Plus he keeps having to learn a new offense.
Dude is good just needs paired with a good coach. Verdict on LaFleur is still out. I think we'll have a slow start to the year and then it will come together.

Preseason just got a major push into serious football apparently.

I’m actually amazed at how many other teams were able to find a QB that throws zero interceptions and has zero bad games ever.

If he's gonna make arrid throws off a backspin, I'd rather it be now... in preseason and actually have an actual QB coach rip him and teach him away from it... rather than Jason Michael and a HC with the IQ of a Spicoli-from-Fast-Times-on-Dialysis

It's a scary thought that this thread is even bought up.

Mariota is a super likable guy and has mad talent.

Do I want to move on from him? Hell no.. I think we give him a new deal. It's super hard finding a franchise QB.

Does he deserve what's coming at him? Nah.

I'm seriously rooting for Mariota to prove us all wrong this year.

But we clearly will need to move on from a QB that throws more INT's than TD's. This year is his time to show out. If not, then it's clearly time to move on.

I guess you haven't been a fan for very long...

You missed one very notable player, I'll give you a hint; he wasn't "pretty, real good".

I agree with everything you said except for the last statement. You're forgetting that here is no way in hell AAS is getting rid of MM8. She canned one of her favorite people last year because of MM8. She's not giving up on him after this year, especially after building a whole new staff. He'll likely be the highest paid QB in the league next year, but that is the way things are in the NFL these days.

I totally agree. I can guarantee anyone that Mariota gets a huge deal at the end of the season, regardless of how bad he plays this year.
