Either the guy doing our pre draft medical screenings needs to get his **** together, or J-Rob needs to start listening to the guy.

Virtually all projected 1st rounders have proven they can play. But he's got to stop picking dudes who's bodies are virtually done at 23.

Oh well. Too soon to over react. Hopefully he gets back for the last few weeks of camp and contributes.

I'm sure this was a recent thing that happened post draft. He was a full participant in the rookie camps.

I know he hasn't been injured the entire time, but he had a muscle tear at Bama. If he reinjured that, then he wasn't 100%.

This would be my guess. And no point pushing him and making it worse. Said it about Davis all last season, I'd rather him sit and come back 100% then rush him back and get injured again. I think Evans will be fine. He'll be good rotating depth as the season goes on.

And Rak being "hurt" has worked out great. I question how hurt he actually is. Wouldn't shock me if the coaching staff are letting him take it easy so Landry can get as many reps as possible. Rak doesn't *need* the reps like Landry does.

I heard an interview with rak early in the training camp where he said he would gladly only take 20ish reps a game to give landry more of a shot and so he could rotate since he's old. I think he knows he's about done as a bona fide starter and is willing to pass the torch

I heard that too, and it's smart on his part. He'll be around longer, so he'll cash more cheques. It'll be interesting to see what he does at the end of the year. With his age, I'd think it would take a team friendly deal to keep him around. So does he believe in this group and want a SB, or does he cut bait and go to the highest bidder?! I get the feeling it might be the former, but that's just a gut feeling.

he also might straight up retire. he just opened some businesses and is feeling old... very possible.

Really? Id be surprised if he did, but who knows. I think if he felt this roster was a year or two away, which I think it could be, then he may want to stick around for that in a reduced role.

Agree and hoping so. Could see Rak taking a J Harrison type career send off but more in a nice way haha. Hope he sticks around as solid situational depth after this season.

Remember when our dumb ass HC put him back in the game against the Jags after re-tweaking his hammy to block?

    That ****ing guy...
