Offenses going to average 50 points a game now. Call me old school but I found 17 to 13 games more exciting than both teams putting up 35. And I found it more exciting when passing for 4000 yards was actually an accomplishment.

 

Everyone should have known this was coming and you had to expect the NFL would try and protect itself from CTE lawsuits in the future.

 

Couldn't they do that with a simple waiver form? Make every player sign a waiver saying they understand a contact sport such as football can possibly be linked to conditions later in life such as CTE. Don't like it, walk away. Willing to risk it for millions of dollars, sign right here.

The word is out now...we know a lot more about concussions and what happens when you beat your brain against your skull too much. The NFL is openly acknowledging that concussions are a bad thing.

Some steps are needed towards players safety but if this rule is enforced anything like what's happened so far, it completely changes the game of football and that's going too far.

Besides, the new rule is you can't hit ANYTHING with the crown of the helmet...that doesn't do much for concussions and CTE. I don't think it matters if your brain gets slammed against your skull from force applied by a shoulder vs a helmet, either.

what did people expect when the NFLPA sued for the cover up of CTE?

I will say this tho, this will def change the game, probably not for the better.

 

It gets worse every year. The NFL knows a big lawsuit is coming and they are stuck between a rock and a hard place.
