that is bad... went to a Sounds game last night. Game went to 11 innings. Talking about a bastardization of the game... all extra innings begin with a man on second base. Specifically the dude that made the last out the prior inning goes to second. Everyone has to pretend it was a leadoff 2 base fielding error that does not even count as a team error... beyond retard level I think BB call it a 'pace of game rule' they limit mound visits - fine they have a 15 second clock between pitches and 2 minute clock between innings - fine but that of starting extra innings with a dude on second is full potato granted it made for some interesting choices, but it was just wrong. oh... 11 inning game that ended 6-3 took 3 hours and 45 minutes - LOL
hmm. I was unaware that people actually watched baseball. Let alone the Sounds. Anyway, I kind of seen this coming down the pipe. They are trying to make this a "safe" sport. Unless they find a way to redesign the human body, its not going to happen.
I thought you were joking until I Googled it and saw it was true. I’m far from a baseball purest but that is just pathetic.
If you're trying to impress pro scouts, you better bring that ball out instead of taking the weak road out. Theoretically you're only gaining about 10 yards in field position, since a lot of college kickers suck at deep placement kicks. A lot them can't kick the ball inside the 10. But I'm also guessing it won't matter since the kicker is still going to try to boot the ball through the end zone. This will just mean that the kicker has no incentive to even attempt to try and place the ball anywhere inside the field of play. So if I'm a college kick returner and I catch the ball at the 10 yard line, I'm bringing it out to test my luck. It would be a shame on any returner trying to use this new rule to gain an easy 10 yards, unless of course they value their safety and are not trying to impress pro scouts.
