Thats why I think we're a legit contender for his services, he wants to win over everything. Us, the Rams, and the Saints give him that opportunity the Raiders and Hawks might not. Hes also not doing this for his health, he will require to be paid something substantial, that really is where we come ahead of the competition. We have the money other teams dont.

We're not saying getting Suh means we automatically win the Super Bowl, but it dang sure won't be worse that having Sly in there.

I'm always nervous about these guys, as I lived through the Dana Stubblefield era here in DC. Different guys, but both with a low ceiling as it comes to trust. Where Suh's numbers are highly desirable, we have a new coach with a new plan and I'd rather look long-term if it means breaking the bank by signing him. But, who knows, he may have his eye on legacy now that he's older. In the end, I'd expect him to sign with the Rams.

The Jags adding Calais Campbell at 30 years of age. He helped transform the defense and the culture on a team that made it the conference championship game.

    Sign me up for that.

Agree! having said that I still think he goes to the Rams. All things equal if Rams come close to Titans money wise (even tho they pay taxes in LA) I would sign with Rams.

No noise for Alan Branch? Former Patriot and teammate of butler, ryan, lewis. Big DT at age 33 is still productive and would come cheap.

Either way, this has been the case for his entire career, and it hasn't put any of the defenses or pass rush over the top.

I'm just being realistic. I don't think most people are. We were #5 in the league last year in sacks, and were rated favorably in terms of creating pressure compared to teams across the league, and people still complain about our pass rush. Suh is definitely an improvement, but I don't know if he's a $16M improvement. And two teams let him walk despite being a top defensive player. That's a pretty major red flag.

Valid points, I'm all for pursing Suh because he would help our D, big upgrade over Sly...just not sure we should be paying 15-16 mil to a 31 year old.
How many years does he have left? 2, 3? More?

Well to be fair Dennis Hickey was an awful GM who should have NEVER given out a contract like the one he signed Suh to.

And the Lions GM was no better. before Suh landed in Detroit that team hadn't had any kind of success, as soon as he shows up on the scene major improvements.2nd season he helps them to the playoffs.

Our pass rush was straight trash for 2/3 of the season and feasted on the weak the other 1/3. Bring on all the front-seven help we can find.
