Yeah, Meyer was a great coach. I think more of the Belmont talk was because of Alexanders connection to Byrd, and Byrd and Meyer are similar in how they built the programs. But I agree. I would honestly take Byrd over any coach in the country from an X-Os standpoint, and Meyer was like that to in his day. Just give those guys the athletes, and they can coach with anyone.

Byrd was only leaving Belmont for one job, which was UT, where we went to school and I think he is from Knoxville. THey passed on him for Conzo Martin, and I dont get it, he can out coach Conzo (or anyone UT has hired, including Barnes) in his sleep. But it it so much about recruiting, and I guess schools dont see Byrd or Myer back then as recruiters.

And when I joke about Alexander going to Belmont, I also wouldnt be surprised if he goes to MTSU or somewhere like that first, and tries to get a big job. He is young, I dont wouldnt blame him. But, I would rather see him at Lipscomb or Belmont and keep consistency in those programs.

Nashville needs a big 5 like Philly. Vandy, Belmont, TSU, Lipscomb, MTSU, and include Austin Peay to make it 6. Play at Bridgestone on 3 day a weekend, promote it a lot in the city, I think that would elevate some programs and be a fun weekend.

Can't believe that happened. Went to bed with those last games still to play. That was the for sure game I thought was decided.

But by the score, glad I don't watch anyway. Wasn't even close.

I went to Belmont a lot. Made some good money betting on the horse races. Had one of my biggest paydays there when I hit a 50 dollar exacta and a 10 dollar triple in the Belmont stakes, where Woody Stevens had two horses, Creme Fraiche, and Stephens Oddesy. I boxed them, cost me 100 dollars, and s 10 dollar triple keyed Creame Fraiche, Stephen's Oddesy, and horse of the year Chief's Crown cost me 20 dollars. I collected over 3 grand that day.

Lol.. I know Belmont is a college, just messing with y'all. But I did win huge that day.

Can’t recall a year with this many big teams gone already.

    2 11s left
    2 9s left
    2 7s left

    2 1s, 2s, 3 3s, 3 4s all miss the sweet 16.
And 5s avoid the dreaded 12-5 upset and 3 keep going.
