DL Ndamukong Suh signs with Rams

You watched the games last year man and especially the Patriots games. There were many times in the season (Colts 1st half, Steelers, 49ers, etc) we weren't getting any pressure unless we blitzed the house. Morgan and Orakpo are both old and could get hurt. Jones got better last year pass rushing but he's coming off injury. And Casey is great, but our interior rush last year wasn't. Don't expect the draft to improve it much either there aren't a lot of edge rushers. Pass rush isn't a position to get complacent with.

 

Jacksonville was #1 in sacks. They pressured Tom Brady fewer times than we did. The Eagles and Patriots had two of the top scoring defenses, yet the SB was a shootout. Good teams can eliminate the pass rush and score points regardless of the competition.

 

So you don't want Suh?

 

Pay the man then get the best ILB in the draft that you think is there.

I do. It doesn't address the future need for an edge rusher, but it sure helps now.

 

So ignore the last remaining weakness? This draft isn't full of elite rushers, and the top safety(James) won' be there. Trade up get Smith from Georgia and we are set.

 

I agree, if you are going to trade up to get your guy, I was specifically talking about pick 25
