A luxury would be if we had proven productive WRs on the roster and we went out and added a top tier guy. We have potential on the roster right now. Sharpe, Taylor and Davis have a combined 3 regular season TDs . We have a QB that we are about to have to pay huge money for. He needs to be surrounded by proven players along with our potential guys. We know that we will not draft a WR until very late in the draft if we even draft one because we spent a 1st and 3rd on them last yr. Also WR is one of the harder positions to transition into from college to pro. So we will add WR depth in FA. Same goes for finding a solid 3rd down RB. We need a veteran guy who will not screw up his blocking assignments and get the QB killed. You can't count on a rookie RB to pick up blitz protection right away. Find and pay a solid vet in FA.

I think the draft will be heavy on the defensive side of the ball and obviously we will address the OG position.

I would have no problem just addressing offense in FA by adding a WR, RB, and OG

 

I really meant a top tier WR is a luxury. A solid FA WR is definitely something I see us going after. Possibly the same for RB, but we may go rookie because based on the recent NFL drafts, we should be able to find a good one in the mid-rounds and he'd be very cheap.

There's an easy way to keep RB's from having to pass protect though: drop them out into a route and make someone cover them or they're wide open.

 

Is Robinson a slot receiver? If not I don’t want him. Mariota just isn’t that guy who’s going to beat defenses over the top. Investing big in a deep ball receiver is a waste. We need guys like Landry who can play the intermediate game in the middle of the field and get lots of yards after catch. We need to also get a more athletic back we can run screens for.
