I know @GoT is a master pepper-smith. I got into it pretty heavy the past year. Just added a second hydroponic and getting ready for the season. Anyone else here into gardening/growing?

    Post your 2018 progress here..

    great idea.

    Yeah peppers and tomatos

usually try other stuff but never seems to go well. Will have more time this year so might hit it with some enthusiasm and a better plan. Actually plant multiple times for second crops and stuff. Will see

Ive been thinking about this kind of thread for 4 years, good time to finally make it happen

Its too early in CT to do much growing but in a couple weeks Ill start some tomatoes from seeds in the window before transplanting outside. thats really the only food I have any luck growing, the deer eat most everything else.

I also have hundreds of bulbs planted throughout the yard, really like seeing those colors pop!

Last year I tried a bunch of different types of peppers. Ghost, habs, japs, long cayenne, short cayenne, chilis etc. I also started several vines which are fun too.
Over the winter I did a couple opium lettuce plants which went way out of control and had to be yanked. Between the two Aerogarden machines my kitchen is like a white out room. So much ambient light I'm able to do plants peripherally as well.

I start everything indoor. Probably wont move anything outside until April, but I'll keep several things going inside even then..

The ghost peppers took much longer than any of the other peppers to ripen. They didn't even start to go red until late Sept. By the time it froze i was getting the second wave of plants. Ended up pulling them and running them thru the dehydrator..

Japs ripened in June and reproduced until Sept.
The Habs were right behind them. Cayenne was slow and Ghost peppers barely made it at all..

Do you dehydrate them and make your own seasoning powders using the peppers??
