No way. He's pretty good, but a career YPC of 10.1 is not top 3-5 in the league.

Good list -- to everyone else, please stop promoting EDGEs/OLBs who can't cover in the open field. Malik Jefferson is the only linebacker we should be looking at @ 25.

Trumaine is going to get paid, and like Butler, he shouldn't even be considered. He's solid, but if you're going to pay a guy like a top-level corner, and especially as an aging guy brought under different coaching, he better be better be a top-level corner.

We already have 10 million wrapped up in Ryan and just spent an 18th pick on Jackson. I was certainly hesitant about how raw Jackson was for the first round, but he is steadily improving and proven he can be a solid corner who can get better. Time to give him some time to do that now. They certainly won't be the best corner tandem in the league or even probably a top one, and we certainly had better options *cough* Bouye/White *cough*, but it is what it is now. All we need to pursue there is some depth, because we have bigger needs now. If we could get Eli Apple for cheap though, I'm all for it. Problem is he most likely won't be cheap, and thus it won't be worth it.

I do agree with you on the guards though as we have to address it. Norwell is a top 3 guard along with Decastro and Martin and is just entering his prime. It shouldn't even be a question if he was willing to sign here. He would instantly put us back in the discussion as a top offensive line in the NFL, and for years to come at that. Pugh on the other hand is another issue. I wouldn't mind giving him a one-year prove it deal, but outside of that we should be looking elsewhere for a guard.

Landry is going to get paid. He was high up on my board before he was drafted and even after he made a pro bowl I felt he was underrated, but that's all changed this season. Granted, catching nearly 10 touchdowns will generally do it, and I'd be happy to have him, but he's going to come at a steep price and we just have bigger needs. Watkins probably won't be far off Landry's price tag either, and under no circumstances do I want to give that guy a multi-year contract.

Sheldon Richardson could be a valuable pick up if cheap. We do need a good DE. I like Ansah better. He'll be pricier, but when healthy he is a top DE.

I like the versatility of adding Burnett, Vaccaro or Gilchrist, who along with Byard are talented enough to play either spot. Reid is talented as well, and we can cut Searcy for it to make make financial sense. I'll throw another name out there, Tyvon Branch who was playing really well until he got injured this year. It's certainly something we need to address as well if not in FA, then in the draft where there's a plethora of safety depth.

Offseason has already played out better than I could hope.

Add a couple of defensive difference makers. Let someone who knows how coach the team up, and I can’t wait for next season.

No thanks. Dude was kicked off UW's squad for being abusive towards a coach and now he's being booted out of KC.

random stream of consciousness offseason thoughts. wanted to get these down somewhere thats not shoutbox.

qb- bring a new backup here. cassell is awful. mccown would be A+ backup.

rb- cut murray. henry will have his shot at #1 but we definitely need to bring some ppl in. CJ anderson would be interesting if he does get cut -- he is a tremendous blocker and can replace murray. otherwise I think a key FA we should be targetting is McKinnon. Add some much needed speed on O and gives some pass catching abilities. McKinnon and Henry would be an awesome compliment to one other. Another name to keep an eye for is Charles Sims. not the best runner but decent third round back.

WR- I think WR is a huge need that titan fans are not considering. We had awful production from our WRs last year. Davis ended the season better but had a rough season. Taywan Taylor was absolutely awful. I see fans expecting him to be our slot next season and I have no idea who they were watching this year. if you're thinking taylor can be a top 3 wr on this roster next year you're taking crazy pills. Matthews is solid but on the last year of his deal. Getting sharpe back is huge not sure why titan fans turned on him so fast. Going into next year with Davis/Matthews/Sharpe/Taywan is not good enough though, waaaay too much uncertainty. Im a big watkins believer and would target him hard but I know its not gonna happen. More realistic i think is John Brown. Was a first round talent and had a 1000 yard season ppl forget. Battled injuries and sickle cell the last two seasons he could have some real value though. Would add more speed to this offense which is surely needed. We were interested in Brandin Cooks last season and John Brown is in a similar build.

Oline- The guard position is another huge need for our team. Spain will be back on a cheap RFA deal but we need to figure out the right guard position. I love norwell but I don't see us going after him with Lewan deal coming up. Would be like 35 mill/yr in new money for the both of them. Honestly you could go a lot of routes for RG. Maybe Mewhort on a prove it deal. Some titan fans mentioned moving on from ben jones but I think that's silly. was injured he will get another season. Conk injury sucks, I would seriously look for a better backup then kelly. kelly is awful but atleast is on a team friendly deal.

te- not much to say. walker is good, jonnu was bad but every rookie TE is. Stockel did his job but coudl be upgraded. supernaw is not good but can play special teams. probably keep the same group.

Dline- Interesting decision on Daquon. If Austin Johnson had played better we wouldn't have this problem, but I don't think austin has played well enoguh to let Daquon go. I'd look to re-sign daquon who was playiing his best season and has gradually improved every offseason. I have no seen anything out of Austin that lets me think he can start next season. sly is cuttable, 6 mill for a guy we hardly use doesn't make sense. might end up keeping him as theres no a lot of options at NT but not inspiring. Casey is a beast and by far the best player on our team.

OLB- obviously a key position to target in the draft. Orakpo/Morgan are solid starters but we need some youth. Wallace is a big question mark-- he showed some skills but total unknown. Will be good to have him back. This is the most likely first round draft pick imo. FAs are unrealistic unless Lawrence somehow doesnt get tagged.

ILB- We need to re-sign Avery really bad. Biggest need to re-sign imo. Hes young and a leader. I know we wish he was more flashy but you can't let him go. I see posters wanting derrick johnson or others but seriously? You want to start 2 35 year old ILBs?? Avery is solid and a team player and is what this team is about. Brown was shaky, but young and should improve. Woodyard is an ideal ILB. Cheap contract and is a leader. Maybe a mid round pick here.

Safety- Cyp was bad obviously. Really bad. Searcy is a decent third safety, wonder if he survives another offseason. If I had a dream FA to land it would be Joyner. Joyner can play deep centerfield or in the box or even in the slot. Would be a perfect fit with Byard as they both are interchangeable pieces. Can get super creative and fits with Pees' inside-out D.

CB- Theres just no way we go after tru/butler like ppl are asking for. We are paying Ryan 10 mill/yr and just drafted Adoree. You're gonna go after a big CB FA and sit one of these guys in base D? No way. Look for a mid round draft pick here and thats it imo. Sims/Tye Smith played really well as depth. Maybe you could go for a budget FA but yea, don't see a big name.

Anyways heres my offseason signings that I think would be ideal

    McKinnon
    John Brown
    Joyner
    Williamson
    Daquon
    McCown
    A rg
