Titans hire Matt LaFleur as OC!!

Lafleur did say awhile back in one of his interviews that the more options a qb has to throw too the better. So even if we do try to attempt to stretch the field we can still dink and dunk if its what the defense gives us.

I just have so much more confidence in LaFleur developing a scheme that works for our players than Robiskie. I still think we will bring in a RB who can be a real receiving threat out of the backfield.

 

You need balance. We were near the bottom of the league in terms of down field throws.

In 2016, we were much higher and the offense was much better, but for some reason that part of our game went away in 2017. Marcus showed in 2016 that he could throw down the field, but from my point of view it looked like the 2017 scheme really hamstrung that.

If you go down the field more, that opens up the underneath too. It all works together. If you just check down all the time, the defense starts to come down and take that away. They can't do that if the threat of chunk plays is present. It wasn't last year.

 

I really like that the coaches. Plus it seems like they really want to be here and get things done. I think they will do a great job. Lafleur seems like he really wants to help Marcus get better. Hope with Pees that we can get some actually players that can play in a 3-4 defense.

 

I am very happy & excited about this hire. I like what he says he'd like to do this year - create an offense around his players, not the other way around like Mularkey and Co tried to force. It's also refreshing to hear him recognizing some of the mechanical issues with Marcus (footwork). The season can't come soon enough. TitanUp!

if marcus gets his footwork right hes going to be a terror to defend.

everyone knows your arm follows your feet as a QB, the fact hes been successful with sloppy footwork is freaky. Most guys look like Jake Locker with bad feet, but Marcus is something special to get away with some of the stuff hes doing..

 

Vikings hire Flip. I like LaFeur and I think he's been under the two best offensive coaches in the league, but Flip would fix Mariota and make him an elite QB. Sucks we couldn't get him.
