Titans rumors from Senior Bowl

He's projected 4-5th round right now. That might move up, but RB is a real position.

 

Wouldn't be surprised if the Titans draft Akrum Wadley or Kalen Ballage

 

He wasn’t a good pass catching back. (Sometimes it really is a case of the player and not coaching believe it or not).

 

I read a lot of post about Henry and one thing the staff never seemed to realize that he is the type of back that takes a while to get going,meaning, he gets stronger as the game goes on. Feed him the rock and he will get it done. With the exotic smash mouth formations....smh everybody knew the run was coming plus the D would have 7 plus in the box. Where the hell you gonna run to? He will b better. This team as a whole will be better.

 

Mariota ran a west coast offense in college to a oldschool offense in the NFL, lets see if the new coaching staff will play to his strengths by putting him in shotgun and spread it out with some play action. Cant point a finger at him until i see him used right. The old coaching staff was like hes a West Coast QB but lets put him under center so I dont have to change any of my schemes (Whiz) but hes never been under center since highschool. They say "we have to protect him" so they only use heavy packages (Whiz/Mike), scared he will get hurt if he doesnt have 8-9 guys blocking for him, when in reality every time hes been hurt has been in the pocket.
Gotta say thats just horrid coaching, like when Mularkey said in a confrence when asked what are you doing to help mariota get better he says "He's doing great, dont wanna mess with him and screw him up". Thank god hes GONE.....

No. Like I said, those have been his weaknesses since day one. That's why he didn't fit in Whisenhunt's complex quick read offense. There is room for improvement. Maybe it's injuries but he's shown signs of regression this year. I think he panics in the pocket too often. Hopefully a healthy off season and the ability to actually practice with his WRs can help.

 

How could we possibly know that? He only had half of a season in that system.

 

Honestly, I thought he played well under Whiz and in 2016 but chit got to predictable this season and the packages on offense was terrible. MM8 is not the only one that looked worse this season, the entire o line was bad, RBs and WRs. MM8 seemed to play very good the last few games when he decided he had enough of Robiskie and audibled out calling the plays. Once he did that he looked like the QB we expected.

 

Explain his two first seasons then...he was considered a "young QB on the rise" and played well.

I think they tried to change him too much, a square peg in a round hole thing ..when he took control himself he won games for us.
