Agree with this..JRob just chose him over Mularkey, and will get a HC/OC combo that should fit very well with his skill set. At this point, coupled with the fact that next season is year four in the pros for Mariota, it is getting close to "put up or shut up" time for Mariota here IMO. I expect to see some serious improvement from him next season.

Thankfully someone gets it. He may even have surgery to clean up the ankle. Knee problems, hamstrings, quads.....geez. We need to get @JCBRAVE to help with squats and strengthen that lower body.

Even with JCBRAVE's help I don't think Mariota will break records squatting 1k lbs.

Who is the deep threat on the Titans again?

Tom Brady had infamously bad deep passing numbers in 2013. People assumed he was washed up, but the problem was he had to throw to Kenbrell Thompkins and Aaron Dobson 141 times that season. All it took was adding a Chris Hogan (!) talent level for his deep ball numbers to skyrocket.

Good QBs can manufacture yards in the short passing game with timing and ball placement, but the deep ball game is a lot more dependant on a receiver who can perform in that role.

we wasted a ton of throws on Corey Davis deep left, almost never connect on those this year

mariota improved his deep ball a lot since his rookie year, the issue is just timing with davis since he missed half the season

    This is it exactly.

When you don't have an experienced QB/WR combo where both parties trust each other, you're bound to have issues. They showed a ton of growth just in the playoffs even, and that's something to build on.

The only thing I'd say negative on him is his ball placement on some throws could be just a hair better. As in, putting it on guys front shoulder instead of back shoulder, etc.

This actually should be a huge offseason for him as far as that goes. He and his receivers don't have any major injuries to recover from, the WR corp is established and he can work with them all offseason, and he's had enough experience in the league where things should be slowing down and coming more naturally.

I think it's very fair for us all to expect big things from him next year.
