Seriously why are we always losing out on whether its a free agent or assistant coach? If we are competing with another team we always get turned down. ALWAYS

I heard that he kicked Adoree's chair out from under him as he was about to sit down at a team meeting.

With this hire as HC you needed some guys that had some experience as OC and DC. However, Bettcher I would imagine would like to call the defense with an offensive mind coach rather than a defensive head coach. Thats just me though.

Not that it was what made a difference in the Bettcher hire, that is simply the large market job has more visibility and cache than the smaller market job in all likelihood. However, I wish Vrabel hadn’t made a point of saying he would override a call if he chose to as he was the HC. That type of thing is understood and probably did not help his cause. Hopefully, he will prove himself to be a leader of coaches/coordinators very soon.

See thats the thing I believe that got Mularkey fired. 3rd and 2 up the middle against a 9 man front and he allowed it to be ran. Result: We lost the game. But I def. agree from defensive perspective.

I didn’t mean override dumb calls. Of course any coach should that, I hope we won’t need to though because we secure coaches brighter than Robiski. BUT, I wouldn’t want the candidates to feel they were micromanaged right from the shoot.

It has more to do with large market verses small market and the prestige associated with that.

Right. Which means if you want to compete with the big market boys, you better bring more $$$ to have a chance in hell.

No doubt. But small markets always struggle in competing for talent. Outbidding is the best strategy.
