I understand Vrabel wanting to bring in his own guys but I would keep Townsend, Arthur Smith, Steve Hoffman & Russ Grimm.

Hoffman and Grimm are definitely gone, and Smith may be as well.

Sort of ironic, Mularkey didn't want to let his offense coordinator go, so instead he looses his job and a the rest of his buddies loose their jobs. That was handled as well as a third and one on the 50 yard line. Good call Mike.

Townsend should definitely stay, and I think he will.

Lol I hear ya there...but tbh I like this thing of totally cleaning house. For the entire time I've been following the Titans it has seemed like a very cronyist organization with personnel hanging on forever. I worked for a company like that and it became obvious that it was always going to be third rate and lagging behind the competition without fail. Even if there are struggles, I at least like feeling like some attempts are being made to really compete rather than just get by and sell some seats.

He was gone before the KC game was played and knew it. Why fire anyone when you are about to be shown the door.

We will never know the conversations that took place during the weeks of the regular season, but I would like to know if there was a specific moment or action that solidified JR’s decision to move on.

I think there's a bit more to it than just his staff. I was just listening to a podcast where the guy was saying he'd interviewed Mularkey 2 years ago and he asked him about the spread. Mularkey's response was basically just completely smug about how his system was so much better than the spread and saw no reason to go to it.

We've all seen how much better Marcus is in the spread than not in it, but Mularkey was not willing to go to the spread and change his system. I think that's what ultimately got him fired; not his loyalty to his staff.
