You nailed that one right out of the park. Who would have picked the Jags to be playing for the AFCC at the beginning of last season?

    I'm betting not very many.

Preseason I was so pumped to see our last games were the Niners, Rams, and Jags... howd that turn out? Dont buy into strength of schedule this far in advance

I have read in several threads now and seen tweets from "experts" about how concerning it is that it appears that Vrabel didn't have his coordinators already picked out.

My question is, have the other newly hired HC's already brought in their coordinators? Did they already have theirs picked out in advance?

Apparently not. Only hire I have seen so far was Bettcher, and he wasn't even available when Shumer was hired.

Silly to think Vrabel is scrambling to find someone and it's not normal practice to interview and hire AFTER getting the job.

Mostly of the coaches that get jobs already have their pick their staff due to the fact that those coordinators that the coach picks are all ties to their work or somehow connected to the HC. Vrabel already stated that he isnt hiring friends but looking for the best ones to help our team. Dunno how accurate that is but maybe that explains your question?

Cardinals have hired HC, DL coach, DB coach, about to hire their OC

Bears hire HC, ST coach, retain numerous coaches, resign DC, hire TE coach, hire WR coach

NYG hire HC, hire OC, hire WR coach, hire DB coach, about to hire DC

Raiders hire HC, hire 13 other coaches

Titans fire HC without a plan, whiff on HC #1, whiff on HC #2, desperately sign HC #3, fire all other coaches, whiff on OC #1, whiff on DC #1, sitting with an empty staff.

No, it's not uncommon to have a plan in place before you make moves ... and it's not silly or unreasonable to expect that a plan be in place, either.

Who was their second choice after McDaniels?

It's not the teams on the schedule, it's the quarterbacks. Guys who have consistently been on top of the league in addition to guys returning from injury.

Watson(2), Luck(2), Tom Brady, Carson Wentz. Kirk Cousins(?), Dak Prescott, Philip Rivers, Eli Manning.

Some of those teams may not be very good, but those QBs have a better chance to win than most any given Sunday.

Hopefully an improved Titans' offense will be enough to offset that.

Frank Reich, who bluntly let us know through the media that he is "not interested" in our job and "doesn't have time" for us.

So who was #1? If you say McDaniels I would say you're wrong. They knew they couldn't interview him after firing Mularkey because of the timing of it.

He also didn't interview anywhere else. And we couldn't interview him any way because he's still in the playoffs.

    Wrong again, @FakestWhiteBoy
