The more I think about James Bettcher as DC for the Giants, the more fun I think it would be. Adapts scheme to players, won't be tied to a 3-4 base. There is no "base," there's barely positions. Defense is aggressive and disciplined. It's controlled chaos.

Honestly I wouldn't mind us just taking the entire Cardinals defensive staff.

 

This could be a really good get and there's a Steelers connection for him and Vrabel, hopefully thats enough to get the nod over a more popular Giants team.

 

This would be a huge get.

We can only assume that MV wants to work alongside the DC to some degree. I hope he's just not looking for a Yes man and passes up someone valuable like Bettcher. Then we'll be in the same position that we were with Mularkey if things aren't working.
