Titans hire Mike Vrabel as Head Coach

He was answering the question he was asked when he said that, it's not like he went Alpha male beating his chest.

Context matters, and I think he handled it well. He gave them a straight answer, and ALSO stated that if he did make a call he would have to be accountable for it if the call was unsuccessful.

 

thi is true...the truth is he couldve been the reincarnation of lombardi up there and I would have found alot not to like.

Im just not buying what him and Jrob are selling. Theres something about him where he rubs me the wrong way

Fair enough, and although I am optimistic about the hire, I'm not ready to crown him as a huge success yet either.

Some people think that he's going to to really make huge improvements to the Titans, others think he's going to set us back.

We'll find out how well JRob did on this hire over the next year or two. My guess is that the result will probably be somewhere between the two extremes.

 

I doubt he sets us back, worst case is we stay a 9-7 type team

this team literally never played a full game from start to finish under the last 2 HC's, we've seen rock bottom and the roster alone can float a bad coach to 8-8..

This is a refreshing move hiring Vrabel.

 

I like what I've seen so far. I'm hoping he is surrounded by a competent staff and is willing to trust them to do their jobs.

We'll probably have a better idea by about game 4 or so.

What were you expecting as far as a HC goes? I mean what legitimate candidate was out there that you would have been happy with?

We are finally breaking the status quo that we’ve had since Jeff Fisher. We are taking a shot, and going for it all. At least be happy about that. I mean this hire didn’t make me jump through the roof and at first I was a little disappointed but then I remembered Whiz and Mularkey and was so thankful we didn’t go that route again.

Vrabel has a lot to prove but clearly this entire league thinks very highly of him. He was interviewed and a finalist for other NFL jobs this year.

As a Titans fan I don’t know how anyone can be upset with JRob over this. He literally just did what we’ve all been wanting done for many many years.

 

I read Mike McCarthy of the Packers' offense was ranked last or 2nd to last when he was an OC and got the Packers job.
