I'm going to be honest and say I didn't listen to the whole press conference yet... This thread pointed to the part I listened to. But from what I've read so far, he seems to cover all of Mularkeys faults.

I'm going to listen to the whole thing tomorrow...but I'm sure I'll agree with what he's saying a lot of the time...he still has to back it up though.

Of course he does. All we have to go by for now is the words hes giving us, so I give him a pass for now. Hes saying mostly the right things.

He's saying all the right things, I like his vision for the scheme he wants to run. Offensively it sounds exactly like what Mariota needs to be successful and defensively I like the "fast and physical" where guys are to fly around the field, be physical, hit hard, be disiplined etc.

Now, the big question, can he actually do what he wants. It's easier said than done of course or there would be a bunch of "Patriots" type dynasties.

I think the biggest unknown is his ability to game plan, make adjustments and game day decision making skills. The only way we're going to know this is to see first hand on Sunday next year. That's where Mularley sucked big time. His game day decision making skills, game planning and ability to adjust when that game plan isn't working was absolutely horrendous.

    He sounded good...energetic...etc....
Hoping for the best but let's face it....everything he said in the introductory press conference were the same basic things everyone says in their intro press conference.
He and Robinson will work as a team......just as JR and MM did....until it crashed. Just like Fisher and Reese did....until it crashed. It happens. More likely to happen with bigger egos. There is always that fine line of ego and arrogance that works. Once it crosses into "too much", that's when things go sideways.
Both seem to show some arrogance. Not necessarily a thing but.....be careful walking that fine line.

I just dont understand why this dude had to become a head coach now. I dont know of any successful head coaches that took his path to being a HC. Closest is Jeff fisher i believe. He should have spent several more years learning, and being a DC, and finding success there.

some of the stuff was troubling his "Im the HC if I want a shot, we're calling a shot" its not horrible, but an immature way to look at something like that, especially at the press conference.

I think his first HC gig will be filled with immature and head scratching moments, and will end with him out similar to McDaniels, and he'll be "learning from his experience"
