Actually Day does have NFL experience with the Eagles and 49ers. Certainly play calling experience at a couple of different OC stops like Boston College.

You're right, I stand corrected. And in addition to the good year Barrett had last year, Day also had a relatively good season with Colin Kaepernick. I'll give him credit for that too.

My thought stays the same tho. I think our offense takes another step back. Maritoa is going to have the same stability issues that Alex Smith had. Too many scheme changes.

I think you’re off on this. If you put into place a scheme that is what he ran at Oregon or close. He will be right at home. Like Peanut butter and jelly if you will. I have no doubt he will take the offense by the horns and it will end up being very potent.

I think the possibility is higher. Did you see Foles throwing those little bubble screens last night? Get the ball into playmakers' hands and let them do the work. That offensive football right now.

Go back to his first overall start in the NFL against TB. The results may not be as good but be more like that. Bring him the scheme, he will deliver.

I.e Game manager? A guy who completes his passes but isnt needed to make any big, flashy plays.

You mean a quarterback? You don't need a playmaker at QB. You need a QB at QB. That's why guys like Michael Vick, Vince Young, and yada yada never last. Playmaker at QB is unsustainable.

Day would be bringing a scheme back to him, not actually adding a new scheme.

Everyone keeps talking about the Chip Kelly and Oregon pieces. Let's not forget Chip Kelly failed as an NFL head coach.. twice! So how good of an idea is it really?

I genuinely hope I'm wrong. I would love nothing more than for Vrabel to bring home a championship. Guess we'll have to wait and see.

There are some parts of Chip that didn't fail. Nick Foles for example. Chip had a whole lot to do with the way he has delivered in the last two weeks. Give credit to Pederson for recognizing this and implementing it into his game plan. But running sets that included the run pass option allowed Nick Foles to totally blow it out of the water. Just as he did as Chip Kelly's starter a few years back.

Nick had his best year under Kelly. With Pederson very willing to reimplement this now. It has paid dividends so far in the playoffs for the Eagles.
