JRob seems to have done a good job so far. He also seems to genuinely want the Titans to win it all, rather than just fill seats and keep the money flowing to the owners.

I trust that he's making decisions based on what he truly believes will work, rather than just surrounding himself with old acquaintances for a year or two.

I'm willing to withhold my judgment until he has his staff assembled. Heck, I'll even wait until I see the Titans play, but I'm silly like that.

 

Yea anyone who thinks this is strictly a friend thing is freaking crazy

I have no idea but I would assume jrob was just a low level scout when vrabel was in his way out of the league. Don’t really see where they’d have much interaction....

And this is jrobs dream job, why would he waste it on a possible buddy hire scenario??

 

perhaps someone can point me to any evidence that A) Vrabel was ready to be a HC and B) something he accomplished as a coach/coordinator?

He got the job because he was on the pats the same time as Jrob, dont kid yourself. He was a horrible DC, and still got a HC job. so 3 years as a low level coach, 1 as a horrible DC qualifies you as a HC candidate and franchise savior these days?

Id rather believe Jrob hired his friend than to think he actually believes Vrabel is the best possible hire for the job, because at that point I question his ability to lead this franchise to greatness.

Yeah I find it hard to believe that JRob came back to Tennessee (where he grew up) and decided to bring in a bunch of cronies here (after building a good nucleus for a team).

Does that mean that Vrabel was the right choice? Time will tell, but I do not at all think that JRob is making his decisions here based on anything other than what he thinks is best for the team. That is refreshing, after enduring a decade or two of Bud crony hires LOL...

 

Let's hope he has one big thing that Mularley didn't have....the ability to delegate.

As a business owner and entrepreneur I know that to be successful it is important that I hire and delegate duties that I either don't like doing or that I'm not that good at doing.

If he can be the "Leader of men", build the culture and paint the big picture but leave the Xs and Os to qualified coordinators then he could be great. But looking at his track record so far I don't see anything that jumps out at me. The fact that he seems to have sucked arse his first and only year as DC doesn't exude much confidence to me either. But he's the man now so let's hope JRob knows what he's doing.
