Small companies make that mistake a whole bunch. Sometimes large ones do too, but usually more thoughtful approach. I think bringing in a person familiar with an offense Mariota thrived in, and has some NFL experience, is solid.

I hear you....I just have never been a fan of that Duck offense under Kelly. Just too gimmicky to me, and it was exposed as such when Oregon got into the bigger profile games IMO. Also, it seemed like it fizzled in Philly after teams started having film on it and could game plan against it.

Maybe bringing in aspects of it would be good, but just bringing it in because Mariota liked it in college is not good enough for me....I think Mariota has made some good adjustments to the pro game thus far, so reverting back to his college offense would be another regression to me IMO....

Not overly confident this is a good choice based on how the 2015 Eagles and 2016 49ers did under Chip Kelly and Ryan Day as a quarterbacks coach. Not sure I would want anything to do with someone Chip Kelly would endorse at the NFL level.

I do like thinking outside the box though, time will tell if he’s brought in and if it is a good choice or not.

I think they will be bringing in aspects verses a full on spread. Probably see more variety than we have before.

This is like saying a bad boss has no good employees and if you’ve ever worked for a boss who was fired you shouldn’t be considered for another position because of it.

Day had a 2,000 yard rusher while he was in BC. I don't think he's married to any particular scheme, but the experience with Kelly probably didn't hurt.

Lol some of u needa be more realistic ..,

    Reality check time :

Of course people are going to hire their buddies - this is the reason so many medicore to bad coaches still are employeed - the NFL is a county club , once your in your set forever.

The Titans were never going to take months and months to find the perfect big name HC or OC for that matter. Some of you have unreaslitc expectations. It is what it is.

If this helps Mariota and if this Day guy picks up the pace of this offense from turtle to slow to light speed than I’m all for it ..

But stop with the “we need a huuuuuge name in here ...”. It’s Tenenssee people ... that was never gunna happen.

Best get your minds right and deal with it.
