Well a company I interned with, the owner hired his wife as plant manager and they went under in two years.

Another, the owner made his daughter the CEO, and they went under in about six months.

No, I don't have statistics to back that up, lol. Just past experience, and common sense that says hiring unqualified people leads to bad stuff.

Of course I’m right. I even have a note from my mom that says so.

That may not be a bad thought, but it is all speculation at this point.

I agree that this seems a bit out of left field relative to what was being discussed on this board for the past week. That said, I also hold to the opinion that JRob is probably better informed on viable candidates for the position than anyone on this board at this point.

I am also guessing that we will be hearing more about the context behind this guy's name floating up over the next 24 hours or so, since I do believe that we may have an OC on board by the time Vrabel does his intro presser tomorrow.

Vrabel hasn’t coached there in like 3 or 4 years and day has been there for 1. Not sure how there’s much of a connection.

I understand we just hired a coach, and everyone wants to swing on his nuts for a bit, so I'm not arguing with everybody.

I just don't think it's as preposterous for NFL coaches to obtain a list of previously unknown candidates, interview them, and hire based on the interview and previous known information.

You know. Like every other job in the world works.

It seems that never happens here. And it definetely seems like it should for a young HC with only one year of coordinating a large group of players.

Can we not play this circular logic game? That statement wasn't about Day. It was about what I quoted

But what you quoted was about the context of this entire situation.

At least wait until an actual announcement comes out before you starting crying that the sky is falling.

I'm not going to lie I was hoping for someone with more NFL experience then being QB coach for two failed staffs... that being said it is interesting to have a Kelley protege running the offense. Kelley was sunk by his inability to connect with his players and he's GM abilities. Kelley's scheme wasn't the problem.

Big risk with this hire if its true though.
