Kubiak was gone when Vrabel started with the Texans, I think.

But if JRob/Vrabel wants someone at OC with some experience, he’d be a good fit.

I can’t inagine Vrabel would want a guy with more head coaching experience than he has as the underling.

I would say someone young. I hope they bring in a qb coach that can be groomed to step up and keep continuity going when the OC gets a head job after our offense explodes.

Would it still be a “lateral move” if we made him assistant HC and OC?

It happens all the time, just look at someone like Wade Phillips, who has had two DC jobs for first time HCs. And considering we are talking about the other side of the ball than what Vrabel has been working with, I would imagine he wants as good an OC as he can get. If Kubiak does want to get back into coaching, I think he would bring a system that fits with a lot of the offensive personnel, including Marcus, and I am not sure he would be quick to bolt for a HC job.

Wentz has a cannon that he loads up with near perfect feet and pocket/pressure shedding elusiveness that we can only dream Yoda had.

Beat up? You must be talking about BEFORE Haley came to town. Haley stopped him from holding the ball and getting rekt every game. He single handedly extended that ****ers career.

Dont want Haley, but they do have a connection. How strong is the relationship?

    from wikipedia

In the days after the Cardinals' appearance in Super Bowl XLIII, Haley was offered the head coaching position of the Chiefs. Haley accepted the position on February 6, 2009

On February 27, 2009, the Patriots traded Vrabel to the Kansas City Chiefs for what was originally announced as an undisclosed draft pick. The following day it was revealed that Patriots traded both Vrabel and Matt Cassel in exchange for the Chiefs' second round pick

I would love to have one of the young up and coming type OCs (Lafleur, Defilipo), but really fear them leaving for a HC job the next year.

I would look really hard at Kubiak, Bevell, and Shula.

Both Bevell and Shula have co-ordianted mobile QBs to the Super Bowl.

I've always liked Kubiak's offense...well balanced between run/pass which would continue to allow Marcus to excel in playaction, but uses much more bootleg action and moving pockets to help QB out in the passing game...plenty of draws and screens as well.

Anybody else think jrob already has OC candidates in mind? We obviously let Mularkey go because he refused to make changes to his staff. I just think we may have to look outside of Vrabels connections with other coaches.

Damn you for finding this connection....I'm not a Haley fan. Like others have said, his offense oftentimes leaves Big Ben open to taking hits. Reminds me of Whisenhunt's offense. Also just don't think he is a great leader.
