Johnathan Cyprien to Titans

Be wary.. Ward isn't going to follow in the footsteps of Roby or Apple, & Def not Lattimore

 

Cyprien did play better towards the end of the year, but he was still successfully targeted by our opponents. We need to add a better coverage safety this offseason

 

I was very disappointed in Cyprien. I never expected him to be the best coverage guy but I didn't realize how terrible he actually was. However, I would say the biggest disappointment was in how many tackles he missed. For a guy who is suppose to be a big hitter, he dives an ankles a lot.

 

take it for what it's worth but Walter football mock has us taking Justin Reid, S bc "John Cyprien was atrocious for the Titans this past season. He was a major free-agent bust, as he struggled mightily in coverage. Tennessee needs better safety play and could make a move at the position in the first round. "

I was willing to give him a shot mainly due to the guy he replaced sucking... But Cyp sucked plenty on his own

 

Isnt he a little light in the ass to be a SS?

 

Cyp is the closest thing we've had to Michael Griffin here since Michael Griffin

 

His open field whiffed tackles were as bad as his coverage

 

Wiff-rypien fits just as well as whiffen Griffin.

 

Did we trade him back to Jax?

On the options when covering Rob Gronkowski/Tom Brady combo:"What's the answer for the tight end? That's always the first question. Because when you double him and they spread you out and start throwing to backs, that's the issue. You can try some double-teams on Gronk but can't just stay in the same coverage -- mix it up with man, zone, pressure. Jalen Ramseyis capable of helping out on Gronk, but the problem is they move Gronk around so much. That could disrupt what Jacksonville wants to do with their corners as a whole. I'd be shocked if they put Ramsey on [him] a bunch. They might disguise looks so he ends up on Ramsey's side. But you'll probably see a lot of Johnathan Cyprien on him, maybe one of their linebackers because they are athletic enough.
