Ive become a fan of the Official HC search thread.

 

He should be added to the visit list soon. Hopefully next week.

 

I don't know. If you're the Jags (and assuming Bortles acts like Bortles the rest of the way), would you rather pay Bortles $19mil or spend a 2nd rounder and pay Alex Smith $25mil?

 

Rex Ryan hired Brian Schottenheimer who was considered a hot OC at the time and just got hired somewhere again. Bowles tried to get DeFillipo from the Eagles but they blocked him.

Considering JRob said he's looking for a few things. A HC who is a leader of men and has a plan to maximize the talent on the roster (read our Offense). That means a leader of men like Wilks better have a plan (OC) to convince us how he's going to get the Offense firing on all cylinders. DeFllipo and LaFleur would go a long way towards doing that if they aren't hired as HC's themselves.

Someone mentioned not wanting Defillipo as OC because he might be gone in a year or two as HC...which is why he's getting looks at HC spots now.

There's a big difference between being the head coach and taking over midseason as an interim with no minicamps, training camps, installing your scheme and philosophy, etc.

Like I said, he has 2 full seasons as the head coach. In those 2 seasons, he won 16 more games than the cka ch fired before him.

 

Doesn't every coach play the players the GM hires? Still not clear how "the GM hired the players" is a knock on the coach?

Is the implication that the team should move forward without a coach, because as long as JR is drafting then we shouldn't need one?

 

Really? He must think...if I go to another rebuild, my HC record will be toast. He might win a ring with Steelers if they can stop shooting themselves in the foot.

Guess that's going to be DeFillipo's...anyone else coming in for 2nd interview with them?

 

It'd be funny if it wasn't sad. Go read YOUR post where you said you don't count his record as INTERIM HEAD COACH. That's YOU ignoring part of his coaching record.

Whether he takes over someone else's team or scheme or whatever, it's still HIS record!!! This is why there are FACTS...and opinions! You might want to learn which is which since you are trying to change a fact with your opinion!
