I admit that I wanted VY very badly at that time as well, because I saw him as McNair 2.0 also.

At the risk of getting this bumped to the marathon VY thread from the past....sometimes I wonder how VY would have fared had he been kept on the bench for a season or two....but we will never know...

    Yeah Mac 9 would've made a difference.

I didn't list Haynesworth for the same reason I didn't list J Kearse. They had one dominating year and a few pretty good years. For someone drafted in the middle of the first, I wouldn't say they overachieved.

Honestly he might have. VY's hero was McNair and even stated the only reason he wanted to go to Tennessee was because of him. VY seemed to be one of the most distraught at McNair's funeral too.

VY had a winning record. Locker didn't even like football. I'd say Locker was a bigger bust. Plus, it was between VY or Leinart, we didn't have much of a choice. During the draft, VY, Leinart and Cutler were viewed as can't miss by most analysts and we had to go QB at 3 no matter what. Even before Locker threw a single NFL pass, many weren't sold on the pick, and I remember many fans here didn't want to reach for a QB at 8.

Worst - Locker. I honestly can't even remember anything positive he did or memorable from his tenure in the NFL. Warmack is 2nd. 10th pick for a guard with garbage production, lmao.

Best - Finnegan and Casey. Based on production and where they were picked.

My favorite draft pick is Chris Johnson. 2,000 yards and set the NFL scrimmage yards record. He actually made the Titans relevant for a few seasons.

It's a shame Collins was so bad that season and the team didn't match his play. Honestly cost him winning MVP that year cause they missed the playoffs IMO.

Yeah, I think McNair would of helped his career. He loved McNair like a father.

Last time I saw Vince, he said he still keeps in touch with McNair's kids and helps Mac9's Mom whenever he has the chance.

I've only met him when he was still a player at UT. Super nice guy despite all the drama with Fisher.
