Mike Munchak no longer candidate for Cardinals Head Coach

I hope Munchak gets another shot. He was dealt a pretty bad hand with all the injuries and horrible GMs, yet despite that he'd still have mediocre seasons (as opposed to Whiz's laughably bad seasons).

 

Munchak had this team being competitive. Got a raw deal, honestly.

People just loved to hate on the guy.

Exactly. And I'm seeing shades of this with all of the Mularkey whining.. We got rid of mediocre, and if they don't pick well.. we could get Whiz 2.0.

Mularkey/McDaniels would be an eerily similar story to Munchak/Whiz. Both smart OCs, both failed once before. (though I do realize McD is said to go to Colts)

I am a mix of excited and fearful.

 

Not sure you can call it a raw deal when they were willing to extend him if he just took out the trash.

While it's possible, I don't find it very likely... at all. Everyone keeps wanting to compare what Mularkey did to what Whiz did as a reason why canning Mularkey could bite us in the ass. But the fact is they were two totally different rosters. I'm not defending Whiz BY ANY MEANS. But Mularkey had much more talent to work with thanks to a GM not named Ruston Webster.

The Whiz years were a perfect storm of incompetence at all levels. I just don't see it getting that bad again anytime soon, regardless of who we hire.
