or run all 3 downs up the middle and punt on 4th. No other team in the NFL does it so it’s guaranteed to work

    Pregame pep talk:

Mike Mularkey: "ok guys, listen up. To win this game, we have to score more points than the other team. We haven't done that lately and I believe that is why we haven't won. So what I want you to do is score more points. Ok?"

Dick LeBeau: "I may not be able to coaches defense's like I used too. But I have my ways. One method is to gameplan that goes nowhere, like the time I coached the Decatur Staleys. I needed a new job after the war so I coached Decatur Staleys, which is what they called the Chicago Bears in those days. So I tied an onion to my belt, which was the style at the time.
Now to beat a team you needed good linebackers, and in those days, linebackers were called hitters.
"Give me 5 hitters for a quarter" you'd say.

Now where were we? Oh yeah, the important thing to beat a team was to wear an onion on your belt, which was the style at the time. They didn't have those brown onions because of the war. The only ones you could get were those big yellow ones....

    Terry Robiskie:

Oh,oh-oh! You see, the offences these days, they score the touchdowns, which gives them the brain damage. With the catchin' and the runnin' and the passin' and the throwin', they don't know what the scorin' is all about. Y'see, offences is like Jello pudding... no, that's not it. Offences is like Kodak film... no, that's not right neither. I've got it, offences is like the new Coke - it'll be around forever.

Has anyone else noticed that Jared Goff's numbers in his 2nd year are very similar to Mariota numbers in his 2nd year (albeit Goff is 1 game behind Mariota)?

    JG: 62.4% 8.0 avg 24 TD 7 INT 24 sacks
    MM: 61.2% 7.6 avg 26 TD 9 INT 23 sacks

Haven't seen him play, but his numbers don't suggest he should be (much) better than Mariota. And his supporting cast is imo better than Mariota's.

Hopefully Mulark y will feel his feet on the fire, open up the playcalling, and let Marcus do his thing. He can't think that with the division possibly on the line that doing the same retard Fisherball style offense in a good idea... right?

Goff was missing his top receiver for several weeks, and the passing game didn't drop off at all. In fact, he threw for 350 against one of the top NFC teams in one of those games. His targets are no better than Mariota's, his coach is just playing a completely different game than our incompetent coaching staff

Not even sure he realizes this is the object to the game

seems like all this staff cares to do is shorten games by running the clock out as fast as they can then not having time in the end to score the necessary points..

game plan would work if we could just score points then sit on leads.. but we're constantly playing catch-up, and our brand of ball isnt made to play that way..

I won’t lie. I have little interest in going this game. I’ve got my tix for sale.

I like the players. And like Mularkey OK. He’s just a below average head coach. And I really dislike our owner. So my apathy is pretty high. Maybe I’ll go if my son rallies me and my tix don’t sell. But honestly, I doubt either happens.

I figure a lot of long time fans are just like me. Why get out in the messy weather for a Christmas Eve game and then have to ride all the way home. I get we might see a totally different team because so much is on the line, but I’m mad as hell that our coaches frittered away a lock opportunity by going conservative and Mularkey/Robiskie calling the offense plays. If they’d come and say- “yep we’re turning over to Mariota” but they haven’t and I dont’ really have any interest in watching Mularkey coach for his job.

I think Mike is gonna see some new things on Sunday and be standing at the line scratching his head as he does, asking how did that kid mcvay think of that and get overwhelmed.

I'm expecting a lot of gimmick plays not working to try and spice things up and demarco running into our own o line over and over again.

Then followed by throwing the team under the bus blaming execution and Marcus not paying attention to what' is
    going on around him.

However it's Xmas eve so the beer will be flowing so bring it on.

Xmas eve tickets given to my stock broker, New Years Eve tickets going to the Boys and Girls Club. At least the Titans won't be getting $200 of my booze money and I'll get to enjoy the holidays with my family and friends.

Watkins and Gurley are clearly better than their Titans counterparts. Austin and Woods are on par with the Titans 2nd and 3rd WR (it's hard to pick a 1 WR on the Titans). Walker is clearly better than their TE, but that's the only matchup we win outright.
