Let’s see what happens when the new stadium opens up. LA Coliseum may not be a draw enough for the people of LA. Just may not glamorous and glitzy enough for them. But you’re right, That’s ridiculous and one of the reason why they lost them before.

Pasadena is a pain to get in and out of. I only went to the coliseum one time when I lived in CA and it was early summer on a Saturday. No football then but the traffic patterns alone are stupid.

No where in SoCal is there a place without some sort of traffic issue though.

I've been to San Diego once to visit a college friend and he happened to live down the street from the old Chargers stadium.

I could be wrong, but it seemed much easier to navigate around that part of SD than LA as a whole.

Never made sense to me to move the Chargers other than $$$$$$$

I get it in the sense that their old stadium was a POS, but Chargers can't even sell out a 27k soccer stadium in LA but they would regularly get 55k+ fans for games in SD

I think its more than just NFL though... The Pistons are 9-3

I think a big factor is that people just don't wanna waste the money anymore. It's much easier to just sit at home, watch in HD, and not have to deal with the crowds...

I used to drive to SD fairly regularly but I had to go to coronado island across that big ass bridge. Traffic always sucked there just because of how many people live there.

Did see my first NFL game in SD though. Tennessee lost to SD thanks to stupid Chris Brown fumbling inside the 5 for what would have been a crushing TD. VY couldn't do enough either.
We lost 17-6 and instead of playing NE, the playoff game Tebow fans forget happened.

its the NBA all-star teams effect. Pistons don't have any of the stars, they're all on GS, Cle, And Hou. Why bother watching when the eastern conference has already been decided?

LA is a tough market to break into and remain in (i.e. just look at the Lakers now). If teams aren't winning the fans look elsewhere. I hope the Rams can continue their winning ways (except when they play us later this season) because I think they can have a great home here. I still can't believe the amount of diehard Ram fans that are still here and it's pretty cool to see, IMO.

Now the Chargers on the other hand, is a different story. I don't see the same following here as the Rams. We'll see how this unfolds. I've heard from friends that have gone to the Stub Hub center that it's a great place to see a game but we'll see how that translates into the big stadium in a few years.

The NFL IMO needed to walk and have success with the Rams before adding the Chargers on top of and running with Chargers.

The city has yet to prove they will support one team.
