I am just shocked that we are not re-signing role players like Spence who actually had carved out a niche on the team. Spence was one low dollar signing I kind of expected us to make. He was a regular contributor on game days; & did not play horribly. We keep allowing those value guys to be signed by other teams. Primarily the Colts. Schwenke was another guy I expected us to retain on the cheap.

FA is really about addressing these roles before the draft to fill some of those needs. We have left our top blocking TE walk, our Top Back Up Olineman, Our Nickle LB (Maybe that is why Cyprien was signed, but damn that's a big $$ amount for a Nickle LB.)

We went into FA with a few glaring needs to address. We are coming out of FA with even more than when FA started. (Not really. I know the guys we expected to retain were not under contract; but I think most expected us to keep them.)

Al Woods is not good and was losing snaps to Austin Johnson at the end of the year he was going to be nothing more than a backup rotational DL. Oh no we signed Williams for essentially a 2 year 11 million dollar deal to compete at NT with Johnson. His upside is higher than Woods so I'm fine with him competing to start. Spence has been replaced with Cyprien. Schwenke has sucked from the jump, how will we ever replace him? Essentially you named one hole we haven't replaced which is a swing G/C. How will we manage with 8 draft picks? Look I'm not healing praise on the FO and how they went about FA but we still have the draft and you literally named one hole we haven't filled. Did you expect every single hole to be filled in FA and us to go into the draft with not one area of need? Wishful thinking. We're not going to miss anybody we lost to the Colts. Those replacing them may suck just as much but that's not really saying anything.

I don't think it's us simply letting them walk. A guy like Spence might start on a defense like the Colts, and hypothetically he plays really well, that 1 year deal turns into much more money a year down the road. Being simply a good role player in Tennessee limits his ability to "show off" for next free agency period.

Lol our rivals poached our best coverage Lb and we have folks in here defending it....

Don't worry we replaced him with a SS who can't cover in space.

I'm not defending us letting him leave, but you can't force the man to stay. If he believes he has a better chance to make a name for himself in Indy, then he's gonna do it. Plus, how much cash is Tennessee gonna invest in the LB position? I would have loved for him to stay, but it is what it is.

I don't see an issue keeping a veteran LB on the team.... plus Woodyard isn't young and looking for a future payday, he's already over the hump in his career..... so your comparing 2 completely different players.

"Our best coverage LB" isn't saying much. Spence is replaceable. Lol he signed a 1 year deal for $3 million

I wanted us to resign him, but let's not act like he was a big difference maker....

Agreed, Woods was an avg player and Schwenke was a below avg player. Schwenke will make their line a mess, unless he stops getting pushed back and letting the line implode. J.Rob seen that and brought in a new center which made the line a lot stronger in the middle, Colts didn't get a single good player from us at all, just below avg to avg starters.

We went 9-7 last year. This years FA we brought in the biggest weaknesses the team had which was ST and CB so how in the world do you see a 4 win team lmao. In the draft we will probably be getting a WR, CB, and a ILB plus a little depth, how can you not see what J.Rob is doing.
