I agree but plenty fast? I think the issue is he lacks speed and strength , he's pretty good at the rest.

Tajae got all of the training camp/ preseason hype because he looked great in camp. Of course that was going up against our sorry CBs who made everyone look like a HOFer last yr.

Tajae has the smarts, work ethic, hands, and route running ability to be a solid NFL WR. He does not have the long speed to really worry a defense. He is best used to work the intermediate part of the field.

I think we split our 1st rnd picks going offense with one and defense with the other. If we are able to trade down and get a 2nd then that would change things.

No doubt our wr depth chart needs major work. If Matthews were to get hurt then currently it is sharpe and Douglas as our top 2. Last yr our cb depth was poor and it didn't get addressed. Hopefully the same thing doesn't happen to wr this yr.

I blame the fans and media he got way to much hype last off-season for no reason.....he did well for a 5th round pick.

For a WR a 4.5 is plenty fast, and that's what he ran iirc. I think his ceiling is D Mason, I personally see the style of play as being similar between the two early in their careers

There was one off/pre season where Hunter looked absolutly unstoppable. He caught every pass thrown his way, and when he didn't he drew a PI.

I remember everyone was impressed and everyone was going crazy, me included. We all thought he was going to explode.

Obviously that didn't happen and it never worked out for the kid.

Sharpe's preseason and then season reminded me a lot of that... Maybe thats the source of this hate you speak of... We are tired of teases at WR?

Now I'm not saying Sharpe will be Hunter, he's still very young and his routes seem much cleaner. But I watched him closely and I felt he got pushed around too much. He was known to be sure handed (which Hunter wasn't), but he wasn't able to absorb contact very well either and I felt also effected him.

People sometimes jump to playing weight quick, and I'm weary of doing that, but I think a bit of bulk might serve him well. He's not a speed demon like Hunter, so I think he might benefit from that a lot. And tbh, he doesn't look 6.2 / 194 either

Breaking news: Tajae Sharpe was a 5th round pick that will play 10 seasons in the NFL. That's a very good 5th round pick. Hats off to JRob.

There will always be a place in this league for a guy who runs good routes, is sure handed and works hard.

Very true regarding him against our DBs and those of other teams. I've always said playing against your own superstars opposite you is the best way to grow and get better. Like playing against your bigger brother... When that
'big brother' isn't very good, it's a much bigger jump to playing against
real-world competition. Tajae will be better after last season, and the guys opposite him in practice this year will be better too...
