Titans should be favorites to win the AFC South next year

OK Captain Obvious.

 

I have such a bad taste in my mouth. Just like the staff & players year end interviews stated, today feels empty. I feel like we should be playing next weekend and it's very frustrating.

Naturally, we should all expect a step forward next season, all things considered. Older team, more chemistry with all those new offensive pieces + 2 first round picks.

But weirder things have happened. I really hope we don't regress.

 

I was reading today, 1/3/17, an article posted by ESPN. The article was called, "Non-playoff Teams With The Best Chances Of Making The 2017 Field", (they posted 10 spots). These are teams that did NOT make the playoffs this year, so, Houston could not be mentioned in the article. In the article, the Jags made the #6 spot with the Colts earning the #5 spot. The #2 spot went to our Titans following the Broncos at #1. The AFC South is going to be a tough division next year if ESPN is correct. All 4 teams being looked at as possible AFC South Champs. What will make the difference is, which team can beat the other AFC South teams. We have bad history here but, I think we have a shot at it. If the Titans want the AFC South, they have to beat the Colts and Texans all 4 games.
Any comments?

 

A couple things to question about this though:
1) ESPN is garbage and nothing they've done in the past decade + has any credibility at least to me.
2) do you think it's possible that it's easier to list AFC South teams because the division has been so bad that literally any team could take division and nobody would really be surprised (maybe Jax would surprise)
3) I have a feeling that as the season gets closer, we will see a lot of the same predictions as this year about the South being up for grabs but no one really thinking the teams are built for the long haul/SB run.

Mind you, I really hope to be dead wrong and the improvements this year aren't just a build up to an even bigger let down than the Jax game.

 

This is a lot tougher division than it is generally given credit for. The Jags have a lot of young talent that just needs more experience; then look out.
