I'm not of the theory that whenever a team is flat, it is on the coach.

I don't feel like most of you have ever really competed at anything. And if you did, maybe you didn't hold yourself accountable.

Sometimes you can do everything right in preparation, you can be 100% right in the head, and 100% want it, and it just isn't there. You are just a step behind for whatever reason.

    Bullchit.

I hold my self accountable in every way. Professional and personal. And I've been a champion in multiple personal vents and awarded in my profession.

The theme of that performance is "responsibility." And what many fail to realize is that Mularkey is a PROFESSIONAL NFL head coach. He is ultimately RESPONSIBLE for all facets of his teams performance. And his team was UNPREPARED for that game if it was one or even a few players taking a day off then all 3 phases of our game wouldn't have been beat so bad. And even if it was one or a few players, then it is HIS responsibility to have it remedied.

This is a convenient time to state this position and start this thread. Yes, some people have been saying this all season while some haven't. What I think is that this is a whore thread to get ratings and "look right".

I agree though. I don't think Mularkey can win us a championship and it would be better to replace him. But we all know that aint gonna happen after having such an improved record from last seasons and beating Green Bay, Kansas City, Denver, and the Miami win looks much more impressive.

Just a ratings thread so you can pull it up in a couple years when he is finally fired even though most people already agree with the assessment anyway.

...and you never had a day that wasn't as sharp or productive as you wanted? Or things just didn't go your way?

This thread just proves why so many of you morons on this board can't be taken seriously.

Sure. But as professional I OWNED it. If I couldn't make an honest assessment of how I let it happen or make adjustments, I didn't say "it was bad timing" or say "I WAS prepared". A professional is evaluated on results. A professional doesn't get a pass for a "bad day". A professional uses preparation as a means to avoid "bad timing"

The truly professional coaches, like Belichek, don't incur embarrassing losses where his team gets caught with their pants down. Average and non-professional coaches do.

The same guys keep begging for coaching and QB carousels. The Cleveland Browns sound more like your speed.

Is Mularkey elite? No. But he earned some breathing room.

Here's the thing. Just because we surpassed expectations this year, it doesn't necessarily mean Mularkey is the right guy for the job. Hell, Munchak also "surprised us" with a decent season once upon a time. I do believe what we have seen this year is pretty much what we can expect from Mularkey. Some good. Some bad. Mayyyyyyybe we eventually luck our way into the playoffs?

That said, there is literally zero chance he is going to get fired. Amy is in love with him and can point to the "wonderful turnaround" in our record, losing Mariota, "we were one game away", etc.

I really hope Mularkey ends up proving me wrong. I just think he's a 8/9 win HC, in a good year. I hate the situation we are in with him right now. It's tough to make the case that he doesn't deserve another year. On the other hand, I'm beyond tired of seeing us waste years and years and years on mediocre coach after mediocre coach.

I think most of us always knew how the Mularkey era was going to end. So being forced to sit here and watch it slowly play out is just brutal and feels like a complete waste of time, and more importantly, talent.

I mean seriously. I was on the McDaniels train last year but has he really shown more then Mularkey has? Both failed in their first jobs. Mularkey has atleast shown he can get us to 8-8 which I feel is an overperformance compared to the talent available.
