Also was against the Vikings, who have an elite defense IMO.

I was a little disappointed they didnt give Henry more shots. He had that one good reception and was invisible the rest of the game.

 

Thats what Im saying, feed Henry.

Murray was obviously over worked when he started putting the ball on the turf.. I really thought Murray and Henry would have a more balanced pitch count. Totally one sided and it cost us..

 

Between these stats and holding AP to 1.6 YPC provides some hope for me. But then I remember we were playing Shaun Hill.... our weakness is easily our secondary. I can remember multiple plays where Hill just straight up missed his guy. What scares me even more is our next games (Lions, Raiders, and Texans) all have QBs who can sling the ball. We might get exposed over these next few games.

 

Imo, we were being too tricky. Just play football. I believe this is a competitive team. We seemed to play as if we were a small division 1 school trying to come up with tricky stuff to allow us to stay in the game with Alabama. We belong. We should play like it!

 

Was at the game and thought we outplayed the Vikings. Take away the two turnovers for TD's we would have won. My concern was all the dang gadget plays. That takes ball away from your playmakers. Where was our line in the I with FB and run it down their throats . Yes Vikings have strong defense but we lost our focus. Where were the looks to Walker? If got 3rd and one let Marcus fake to Henry roll out either keep it or throw it. All the gadget plays didn't really work . We should have won this game. This is a young team on both sides of the ball. We are building but the gadget plays need to go, Or maybe not so many. Our defense I was impressed with except pressuring the QB. That has to get better. The CB's we're in good position yesterday on pass defense just couldn't knock ball loose. The TE down the middle of the field hurt us as it did in preseason. Our LB have to do a better job with that . Only game 1. Go Titans TITAN UP.

 

I picked up on that pretty quick, literally every play there was movement before the snap. Changes in formation and seemed to always have a RB out in the slot and would shift to the backfield. I was at the game and my buddy (Vikings) fan even said, "Mariota is trying to be Peyton Manning with all this Omaha-bull****".

 

Murray had 50 plays, Henry 21 and Fowler only 11. Not exactly smashmouth. I agree with you...if we are going to line up and run it. where is the FB?

 

2. 9 career fumbles lost on 1,140 career carries. He doesn't have a fumble problem.

 

Marcus looked uncertain of what was supposed to be going on. Wasn't his best game. He didn't seem comfortable from start to finish .
