I'm thinking we win 8-9 games. We have several new pieces that, with a bit of luck, can come together very nicely. I also think Yoda, much like last year, is highly underrated.

Ya ya, I know, Yoda sucks. All he did last year was set several records. ****** team has nothing to do with the loss total.

I can see us with a 7-9 or even an 8-8 this year

Hey, the sun shines on a dog's ass every now and then.

Too bad Mularkey is a loser and a quitter.

No HC is gonna be good with a trash QB.

Year 1 in Buffalo he at least has an average starter at QB in Drew Bledsoe, and he goes 9-7

Year 2 he bounces back and forth between trash (JP Losman) and decent (Kelly Holcomb) QB play.

JP Losman completed UNDER 50% of his passes that year, and lead them to a 1-7 record in games he started.

Kelly Holcomb played decent that year at QB, and lead them to a respectable 4-4 record in his starts.

Seams to me that the Bill problems were more a QB problem than an HC problem. With the Bills, Mularkey was 13-11 when he had an average QB playing ... however he was 1-7 with a bad QB playing.

In Jacksonville, he was stuck with Chad Henne and Blaine Gabbert ... there was no HC that was going to do much with those 2 QBs. This was a tough situation to begin with for Mularkey. He took over a terrible team with a terrible QB. He probably thought that he would have more than 1 season to turn things around and would get to help pick his next QB.

TN was difficult as well. Takes over mid season after the Titans are pretty much done anyway. 2-7 overall, but 0-3 with Mett starting.

So his overall record is like 18-39, but his record with competent QB play is 15-15. His record with trash QBs starting is 3-24.

Seems like if he has a good QB he might do alright

Which is the case with every coach ever. Too bad with good QB play he's .500.

    Loser and a quitter.

1st of all, I said decent QB play. Not good. With good QB play he might be able to achieve better than .500. Who knows what he may accomplish with a legit franchise QB.

2nd of all ... that's exactly my point. If coaches are only as good as the QB they luck into being paired with, then it wouldn't matter if our coach was Mularkey or not, we will go as far as Mariota can take us.

Honestly I think the role of HCs is often overstated. I think that bad HCs can make any team bad. Average HCs can look bad if they don't have a QB, or they can look really good with a franchise QB.

Very few coaches out there look good no matter what.

If we have an average coach in Mularkey and a franchise QB in Marioata, then we could have some success.

As an OC, Mularkey found a lot of success with Matt Ryan. .. so it's not like his philosophies are so far off that he can't be successful. He just needs the right situation (like most coaches) and not be a stubborn bafoon like whiz.

Robinson will prove to be the more important addition. If he can put talented players on the ream, then I think they will produce.

But Mularkey is a QB whisperer, or at least that's what the FO wants me to believe.

    Loser and a quitter.

I think if Tennessee gets all the breaks and all the picks/FA pay off, the best I can see is 8-8, I think that 5.5 is right on the money for my expectations of a 6-10 season. It's hard to bet on that.
Based on nothing more than hunches, these are what I feel would a little more comfortable betting (if I was betting that is):
Over: Panthers, Patriots, Broncos, Ravens, Falcons, Redskins
Under: Cowboys, Texans, Jets, Giants, Bears, Eagles.
