GREAT POST about draft history and why history favors those positions and why we are in a different position to possibly break the mold!

I don't really agree with the last part because I think if we draft Tunsil we are setting ourselves up for it to backfire in a number of ways (Tunsil's red flags could cause him to bust, injury issues, forces a bad run fit for Leean at RT, can Tunsil beat Lewan at LT, will having a zone blocker at RT hamper the run game enough that it forces Mariota and the offense into too many 3rd and longs which defeats the purpose of the offseason - to provide a strong run game so Mariota is t living in 3rd and long all day).

There could be things we don't know about...like the Titans may not think Lewan is our franchise LT or his shoulder is gonna be a long term problem so Tunsil being picked to be our future at LT makes sense. But we don't know that and all indications are that JR thinks Lewan is our franchise LT.

All things being equal and what we think they are, a value trade back or Ramsey I think are better ideas than Tunsil.

I've been back and forth with this pick between these 2 guys. I'm starting to lean more towards Ramsey. I feel like there's 2 different scenarios that could play out if we stay at #1.

The first being we draft Tunsil to start at left tackle (you don't draft a right tackle at #1 overall unless you're the Chiefs). Lewan kicks over to the right side and they bookend for years. Part of me feels like Lewan wouldn't have a problem doing that and another makes me wonder if he'd not be a fan. Not sure if that'd be great within the franchise and how they'd go about making that decision. He'd be a better matchup for JJ Watt than some rookie, not matter who it is. Then in the 2nd round we draft a S/CB depending on what's available.

The second option is we draft Ramsey to play CB and see where he eventually fits best. We can move him around the field and let him do what he does best. And that leads me to the 2nd round or even potentially trading back in to round 1. I feel like we can easily stay at 33 and draft a right tackle or if we see someone slipping in round 1 we could make a move up. I wouldn't mind Taylor Decker from Ohio State or Jason Spriggs from Indiana. I think either of these guys kick in as a Day 1 right tackle starter which in the NFL is probably their more realistic spot to start out at.

For me personally I think we get the better value out of the 2nd scenario. I would love at the end of the first night of the Draft for us to come away with Jalen Ramsey and a quality starting right tackle.

Honestly I love both prospects and either scenario would be considered a win for us in my opinion. I love Tunsil's pass pro and he can work on his run blocking (which isn't bad by any means). There's really nothing for me to say about Ramsey, he's a clean prospect on and off the field as you'll find. We need some BIG TIME help in our secondary, but we've also gotta protect Marcus. I think for the organization it all depends on what their priority is that night. They could be wowed by Ramsey and feel comfortable taking a RT for Mariota or they could fall in love with Tunsil's pass pro and take a quality starting S/CB at 33. I'm ready for the freaking draft man!

If you're using Kiper as an 'expert' to bolster your credibility, you need to defend his credibility when it is questioned and shown to be less than 'expert!'

Some of us non 'experts' knew Bosa was not the best player in the draft and knew he wasn't comparable to JJ Watt and didn't need to wait for the combine to say so. Even after his mediocre workout, a lot of those experts were trying to ignore his workout and still were calling him scheme diverse!

Taylor has only played RT twice in his entire career... Rather have someone on defense who can help stop T Hilton,A Robinson D Hopkins A hurns.. And that's just in our division Draft Ramsey and get RT later on on draft

Exactly. I don't think McCourty has been a #1 CB for a while now and he's coming off a tough injury. IF Ramsey is a shutdown corner, he's a huge upgrade to anything the Titans have had for a long time.

But that's the issue. If he was going to be used as an outside corner, then I justify the pick. If Robinson thinks he's a FS, then I have concerns if it's better value than LT.

Remember when they tried Griffin at CB when he was a rookie? Disaster. If they take Ramsey, he better be starting at NB and outside by year two if not sooner.

To me, everything points to the pick being Tunsil. AAS fires Whiz because he won't protect Mariota. The offense changes under Mularkey to protect Mariota. Everyone knows Mariota gives the Titans the best chance to win if he gets any support with the run game and they've brought in a name RB to do just that.

I like adding Jones at C but RT is just too glaring an issue. I just don't see AAS passing on a guy who would be a tremendous upgrade for the OL and protect the face of her franchise.

If Robinson thinks Tunsil has the tools, I have no doubt he'll be the pick if a team doesn't offer him the moon.

Yeah, I still feel they are big on Tunsil as well....it all depends on if and who they like and if they think they can grab them at #33 without giving anything up.....Tunsil may likely be the pick, and i'll get behind it and his athleticism and talent, but I do worry about his injury issues TJ....He goes down, and we are royally F''ed....Not to mention the history of us drafting on the line, and past 10 years of top OL players busting...There is a reason they bust....Harder to grade, spread offense, etc. Also, we want to roll "Exotic Smash mouth"...Is that the smartest pick? I just don't know.....I'm torn

It will not excite the fan base like Ramsey would but the franchise doesn't seem to care much about the fans being excited (Mularkey choice).

Ain't that the truth.....I just think they are closing the door on Lewan too soon.....we had a doo doo line and coaching. Kid is a top 11 pick. He will be fine at LT
