I understand Mularkey took over a terrible roster and he may be solid if we improve OL and run game but what concerns me is if the current players respect/like him why didn't they play harder for him? From what I've heard sounded like a few packed it in and were allowed to do so.
Team needs a shakedown and a culture change including a new HC.

Exactly. It's deeper than Mularkey....It needs a good gutting and rebuild.

I saw someone get hit with abunch of BS tags because they said this, but seriously. Even if the players werent bad when they came to the Titans, I am willing to say most of them are ruined. They were wasted in many ways such as development and have become accustomed to practices that have not helped their on the field performance. If a new coach comes in and starts pushing them hard in practice, they will quit, just like they do in games.

    SCRAP THEM ALL.

I have a 3 man crew (including myself). I tore my labrum at the beginning of last year, after the doctors kicking the can for most of the year, they finally sent me for an MRI, saw the "severe tear" and said I needed surgery. Because of my inability to do the job like it needed to be done, I had to pull back and let my employees handle it. After a few months they had slowed down to barely moving and no matter how much I stayed on their asses, they just refuse to get going back at a normal pace again. I expect I will have to fire both of my employees and start over because they have become accustomed to jacking around all day and when I try to force them to work, they look at me like I am doing them wrong.

Report: Mularkey 'clear frontrunner' for TEN
    [IMG]
NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports Titans interim coach Mike Mularkey is the "clear frontrunner" to replace Ken Whisenhunt.

It's hard to make this stuff up sometimes. The Titans have yet to even hire a general manager, but apparently comfortable saddling whomever replaces Ruston Webster with a 54-year-old interim coach. This is how bad teams stay bad. Mularkey's formal interview is expected to come later in the week. The Titans have yet to interview anyone else, so it indeed appears to be Mularkey's job to lose.

This feels to me like the team just being honorable and giving Mularkey a shot to keep the job.

They said they will let the new GM hire the coach. Maybe Mularkey gets the first interview out of respect, but I can't see him getting the job.

I would like someone else, but if they end up keeping Mularky then I understand. He is a good coach and did okay with what was a diabolical situation. He will need to make some coaching staff changes.
